Minneapolis Public Schools are implementing a new policy aimed at eliminating the gap between the races when it comes to suspensions. Nothing will change for white students, they will still be suspended at the discretion of each schools principal. But for minority students, specifically black, Hispanic and Native American students, the Minneapolis Schools Superintendents office will personally review each case.

The ethnic make-up of Minneapolis schools is majority minority. According to data for the 2014-2015 school year, 33.8 percent of students are white, while 37.2 percent are black, 19.3 percent are Hispanic, and 3.8 percent are Native American. Asians represent 6.8 percent of the student body but were not mentioned by Superintendent Johnson as being impacted by this new policy.
How this policy of different standards for students of different races squares with the Supreme Court decision in Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka remains to be seen, but court challenges are expected in the case.

Nope, the white students merely need to go down and re-register themselves as Indians....saying they’ve discovered that they have an Indian background going back three or four generations. Even 1/32 Indian...counts.
Years ago in my Air Force years...we had some sudden phonecall to the office for my captain...I had to hunt her down. The wing commander was suddenly going to have lunch with two House Representatives who’d invited themselves to the base...and their big thing was some connection to American Indians. Somewhere out there in the AF database, they had all of us listed with ethnic status. Upon entering the service...my captain had ID’ed herself as American Indian (figuring it might be an advantage one day)...but the best she could claim was 1/16th status. So she went over and had lunch with a couple of other folks on base, with the wing commander and the two VIPs. I never followed her career but I’d guess she easily made Lt Col, and maybe full-bird.

It’s what happens when people refuse to accept reality.
Just wrong. It is not just to provide unequal treatment based upon disparate impact alone, absent a showing of racist intent.

Question: How did the Minneapolis school system come to be 70% non-white? Where did all the white people suddenly go?
What is the percentage of blacks? By Hispanic,are we talking about mostly Mexicans, or are we talking about people from all over Latin America?
Many people from Latin America are classified as white. They are the descendants of Spanish conquerors and later Spanish immigrants to Latin America. You can see these people in soap operas on the Spanish-speaking cable channels.
What brings/attracts blacks and Hispanics to Minneapolis in the first place? What kind of jobs attract them to such a cold climate?
I thought that Minnesota was one of the whitest of all the states.
How about visit Florida, and review how a young man on suspension from high school played around and got in a fight that cost him his life, plus was evidently cooking up lean. If I didn’t know any better it appears that they don’t want these kids disciplined or counseled so that they can go bowling for riots in Minnesota.
To understand why they’re being suspended? These people do work in the school system do they not? And they still ask that question? They might be book smart but their street smarts are quite lacking.
In the interests of protecting the rights of minority-majorities, I propose putting a camera in every classroom and showing the precipitating events on YouTube.
I’m sure this will vindicate the people who claim that there’s racism in the classroom, and completely silence the racists who suggest that perhaps black kids have a disproportionate number of suspensions because they’re disproportionately unruly.

I don’t think it’s jobs as much as the vote buying
welfare. Besides it’s Minnesota, not one of your more
intellectual states. Most residences don’t even know what
great lake it borders. No kidding. Ask the next Minnasotaroid
you see.
And now you understand why only 37% of students in the Minneapolis School District are white (and probably liberal). This subtle discrimination against whites has probably been practiced hundreds of different ways in their schools without so much as a conscious pang. White kids in these schools probably wear shirts that say “Go ahead and beat me. I deserve it.”
Oops. It’s only 33% white. Even worse than I thought.
Back before integration, Black school teachers/principles did not tolerate bad behavior among Black students. They were expected to do well, obey teachers and act responsible as a result many all black schools were top performing ones.
Then came the liberal infection of public schools and all that changed for the worse.
I’m black and this was told to me by my mom.
Its called “entitlement” folks and until a complete turnaround in this country comes about, it will not change. The whites are now the MINORITY.
