Yeah, in the end, that’s all that matters to them.

If you ever want the cops to show up as quick as they can, yell something about “officer down” during the 911 call.

“The law gives cops the benefit of the doubt.”

I once gave cops the benefit of the doubt. Mind you as a teen I was a punk who “hated” cops. We actually (in 1972) had a shaved head county cop who we actually called ‘officer Krupke’.

But at about 23 yrs of age decided it was easier to assume the cop was telling the truth until evidence directed otherwise. I don’t assume that anymore and I welcome the age of the ubiquitous camera.

The fact that Cop said he would do it again.....

If the Driver would have hit the cop in the same manor as the Cop hit the Driver. The Driver would be charged with Felony Assault.

I don’t see how this Cop cannot be charged with Felony Assault? An example MUST BE MADE of this Cop in order to preserve the integrity with the public of the entire police department.

It is because of the badge lickers here that cops think they can behave this way. Because the Law and Order Above ALL Else crowd can’t see what has become of cops. They have earned the title pigs. ALL OF THEM.
Why? Because even the ‘good’ ones are accepting of this. This pig’s attitude sucked. His actions were fully criminal. And in a real profession, he’d be fired on the spot. But, because LE has no concept of professional conduct, they’ll defend this trash. And the tax payers will pay the price when he crosses the line.

He should be charged criminally. Fired, and never again able to land a job in LE. But that isn’t what is going to happen. What will happen, is because his pig brothers and badge lickers will minimize this, he will learn to escalate his bad behavior.
And badge lickers wonder why people distrust cops? Clueless.

“This is the type of bad, sociopathic creep who gives modern law enforcement a bad name.”

No he isn’t. Other cops SUPPORT and DEFENSE of such cops is what give LE a bad name. It isn’t the bad apples. It is their response to bad apples.

I might add that this guy was considerably bigger and more muscular than I was.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Based on your response to me, he was probably smarter, too.

Ohh look, excuses.

“Glans, who has also worked for the South Glens Falls police department, said he was in the U.S. Marine Corps before becoming a police officer.”

No one who has been a soldier should be able to immediately become a cop. The jobs both involve violence, but under vastly different rules. There needs to be a time of reimmersing into civilian life. The shift from soldier to cop is not automatic.

“His wife, Carrie, who is a medical provider, said her husband has been under a lot of emotional and physical stress and that she’s concerned how the video and any fallout may portray their family in the community.

“What my husband did and how he reacted wasn’t the correct way to do it, but there were circumstances that came about beforehand,” she said. “He’s had a very hard year.””

His private issues are not one bit important to this. It is his responsibility to stay in control and obey the law. WE ALL FACE THAT. But I guess a cop gets to say “I’m having a bad day and need to vent.”
And none of those ‘excuses’ address the pig beside him who was supposed to tell the jerk to ratchet it down or get arrested. It was his DUTY to stop this thug, and he refused to do it.

The ‘law enforcement cadre’, all kinds and top to bottom, has been infected with these kind of bullies for years. They see themselves as elected government. I often compare in my mind the photos of the long lines of civilian officers on parade with publicly funded vehicles for a fallen comrade with a lone and simple casket without the long lines of parade and using private vehicles for a war veteran killed in action.

It’s harassment, which is a summary offence.

For it to be assault, physical damage has to be demonstrated. A skull fracture, or concussion, as an example.

In NYS, that’s not assault.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Let me get this straight: If I did to you what this cop did to the kid in the video, while you were wearing your filthy badge, it would not be assault? It’s hard to believe that I’d live to tell about it, given what I know about you and your kind.

If it’s possible, I’d really appreciate a PING if this incident grows legs and the cop and/or the municipality end up in a lawsuit. I don’t wish Officer Outrageous any bad luck, but if he had some I wouldn’t mind hearing about it. Thanks.

Strangely enough that appears to be true. In NY there has to be an injury for it to be assault.

In VT merely threatening bodily harm is assault.
