The GOP had a good night. But the map, the math and the reality of Washington dysfunction favor the presumptive Democratic nominee in 2016.
But heres the thing: In politics, the easy answer isnt always the only answer, and the winner of an election isnt always the one who benefits most. Take a closer look at demography, geography and the road ahead for the parties, and its clear that the long-term winner of the 2014 midterms wasnt the GOP at all. The long-term winner, in fact, wasnt even on the ballot this year.
Her name is Hillary Clinton.
Of course the GOP is celebrating right now, as it should. Any election that ends up putting Republicans into the governors mansions in Illinois and Maryland is worth getting worked up about. But under the surface, almost everything about last nights midterm results and the map, the math and the legislative morass that lies ahead in the run-up to 2016 suggests that the former first lady and secretary of state will have a better next two years than the party currently guzzling champagne.
More of the same more gridlock, more obstructionism, more kneejerk opposition won't cut it; voters expect the newly empowered GOP to work with Obama and govern.

Well.................They HAD to write something....*LOL*
Hillary Clinton is gonna be pivoting like never before.... She may run farther right than Romney was...
Bill, Hillary and Obama all LOST votes in the races where they participated. There is no American love affair with Hillary Clinton...or her left wing ideology.
Like hell we do! We expect them to put forth a pro-growth, pro-defense, pro-energy agenda and cut off the funding for Obama's pet projects. Period.
well, SOMEONE had to claim this election was a mandate
Mitch McConnell isn’t
Nevermind the fact that nearly every candidate she and Slick stumped for lost.
Oh please....win or lose---the conniving Clintons had this nonsense ready to go even BEFORE the election.
The name of the game was to cover their dumb *****.
It was laughable seeing the Clintons gamely campaigning for all the shovel-ready Dumbocrats....headed for the Donkey Graveyard.
If all the Democrats have for 2016 is the shopworn Hillary Clinton (and it looks like that’s it), they are toast again. Republicans have a good stable of legitimate and qualified candidates, particularly successful governors.
Hillary will get togged up in hunting garb & ask, “Whar I gots to go ta gits me a huntin’ license?”
No, wait....been tried already.
Wrong lesson, Andrew. We expect the newly empowered GOP to stop Obama. Period.
You can wish in one hand...
No, wait....been tried already.
Or maybe put on her fake southern black accent and bellow out, "I aiiinn'tt nooo wayyys tarrrred..."
If the Republicans in the Senate were smart, the would begin Benghazi hearings in January -a and keep them going for 2 years.
Not so fast there Mr. Ramano, the fat lady hasn’t even started to warm up to sing.
The Clinton’s have worn out their welcome as was plainly evident in what Arkansas did. Even though both Hitlary and Billy Bob spent their “leisure time” stump jumping in Arkansas, their candidates were rejected.
There is still a ways to go before the 2016 election results and a lot can happen between then and now.
Hitlary my be your choice for the next POTUS but there are one hell of a lot of Americans with GREAT MEMORIES of her activities related to Benghazi. She should be crucified for that and I am one individual who would NEVER vote for her for ANYTHING. Simply stated, lets wait for the fat lady to really sing.
Not sure last evening helped Hillary, but I did notice the commentators on CNN were very critical of Obama. The bloom is off the rose, apparently.
CNN seemed to already start their campaign to distance Hillary/Dem Nominee from Obama and Obama’s policies.
She’ll do a guest spot on Duck Dynasty...
Campaign in Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, North Carolina , Maryland .
