” Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.”
An hour? I though polls didn’t open until 7am? Did you forget to turn your clocks back?
If we win big today, Ill cheer for a senate that allows its few patriots to speak and perhaps shame a decrepit institution to think of the nation they are supposed to serve.
Yet in the end, men are but men. They like power and inevitably seek more of it. A plurality of American voters would slap themselves in chains if it relieved them of lifes tough decisions.
Todays midterms will not change our national course. Enjoy the party tonight. The hangover begins tomorrow.
CT opens at 6AM, sharp.
We could use some good news for a change.
I realize even if the senate is won, there will be no magical turn around. But there will be at least a glimmer of hope where there has been little.
Republicans better lead. They better produce and pass a federal budget that hasn’t been done since Obama took office.
They better be serious about finding out what happened at the IRS and Benghazi. They are far more serious than anything Nixon did.
They better threaten the President with removal from office if it can be proven that the White House was heading either of these things.
And finally, they better damn well not push/pass amnesty for illegals and they must block Obama from doing it via executive order.
Otherwise the Republican party is over. They will never be trusted again to do the peoples will.
So what will they do?
Likely the Senate will be switched to Repub before midnight, as well as most Governor races. The only thing left to wonder about will be how much the majority increases in the House!
I’ve got beer. Haven’t decided yet what time beer’o’clock will be.
Heading out to vote.
Prediction: Gillespie will lead in Virginia until the 99% Dem precincts do their magic late in the night.
I wanna’ know what happened in Dixville Notch.
Ping for reading throughout the day.
My flyover opened at 6:00AM. I was there for the “Here ye. Here ye.” Myself and one other gentleman. In 2008, there were 40 or so in line at 6:00. In 2010, 15 or so. In 2012, 30 or so. Clearly very low turnout here and it is going to rain all day. Absentee and early voting off 40% from last mid-term as well.
Where is a list of closing times for all 57 states?
At 6:50AM, there was a line of 40 waiting.
Longest line ever seen in a midterm election.
I just got back from voting. I was the first in line.
I was appalled to see all the signs were bilingual, English and Spanish. I thought it was a requirement for citizenship to be able to speak English. If not, how the hell are new citizens supposed to understand enough to be a participant in the American Experience? Oh, thats right: They dont have to participate, nor do they want to; they just want to collect the freebies and live off the sweat of working Americans.
Voted at 6:30 at Sarah’s Creek precinct in Gloucester Point, VA. Slow but steady turnout. Hearing reports of strong turnout in other areas. Hoping and praying for the miracles of the dems going down to defeat nationwide and Gillespie defeating Warner in VA.
