Happy Election Day everyone! I figured I'd go ahead and get the election day thread started. Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.
Please be sure to post observations of interest if you went to the polls today.
I got it on MSNBC, they are talking about how the Republicans nationalized the election, the topics kept changing (Healthcare, ISIS, gridlock, etc), but they didn’t allow the Democrats to make it a “choice election.”
A lot of handringing going on thus far by the Obama gang on MSNBC.

Anyone else already feel like this isn’t going to break the GOP’s way.
Already seems like the Fox people are tempering expectations and showing that all these close races are breaking Dem.
Not that I’m surprised anymore. We are what appears to be an small minority in this country now.
I don’t get how we continue to win state offices en masse though. Aren’t these the same people voting! Or is it that conservatives and Republicans vote in all elections and Dems only in national/gubernatorial ones?

If I thought policy outcomes would differ much between Democrats and the GOPe, I’d take this a lot more seriously.

The nation is in surgery. That’s all I know here in the ‘waiting room’. I knew all along that the cheaters have more accurate internal polling. But at the same time, we had momentum.
The Virginia race is good news. This could be the key to the whole night. (Rove/Trippi also agreed on this). I feel cautiously optimistic.
I’ve been skeptical of a GOP takeover from the start. I mean, it’s great that people are starting to turn on Obama, but it isn’t as if the GOP offers any sort of real alternative aside from...well, not being Obama.
Put another way, I can’t see a landslide victory for a group that nobody really likes, and that applies to both parties.
Of course, that won’t stop Tokyo Rove from salivating about a “wave election” on Fox. (Why do they have to keep inviting him on...)
