Montana wildlife officials are dropping a proposal to keep confidential the names of hunters and trappers who kill wildlife in Montana.
...
That information is now available under the state's right-to-know laws. Some hunters and trappers had claimed they were being harassed by people who had obtained the information.

If this is allowed, then they should be forced to release the names of all women that get abortions.

Why the hell should that be public information?
I would think it falls under “reasonable expectation of privacy”.
What’s going on in MONTANA?? Too many New Jersey libs moving there?
I should go up there to help shift the balance!!

My state came down hard on hunter harassment years ago and it was about time. Anti hunters following and harassing hunters as they left their cars, accident waiting to happen.
Let’s say accidental discharge waiting to happen.
I once read those from Pennsylvania tried to get the right to hunt into the bill of rights. Our forefathers exhibited great wisdom.

Hunters should avoid hunting in Montana then. Let Montana bureaucrats see the resulting lack of revenues.

If there is a “right to know” who’s a hunter, there should also be a “right to know” who’s had an abortion.

Strange this would be an issue in Montana, of all places....
To: george76
We in Montana have had an influx of liberals fleeing their fouled nests. Unfortunantly, they want to bring about here the same things that lead to the fouling of the places they are fleeing.
They tried to get the names of all CCW permit holders too. Local sheriff said he would burn the records before he would let that happen.
But to be honest, the people who don’t hunt are still considered to be the oddballs.

Somebody should release the names of all of Montana’s “wildlife officials”. What goes around, comes around.

They wont register pedophiles, just the hunters who are volunteering to manage wildlife.

Antihunters are hyppi fronts for the drug growing there. Hunting is obviously not the problem in terms of wildlife habitat destruction.

One of these days these antihunters will find themselves at the wrong end of a pot field and will be gunned down by the dealers.
