The first steps in a major shakeup of the Ferguson, Missouri police department including the resignation of Chief Thomas Jackson could come as early as next week, according to local and federal officials whove been briefed on plans still being worked out by city and state leaders.
The plan, described by a source with direct knowledge of the plans as extremely delicate, said the details are still being hashed out in closed-door meetings between Ferguson city and St. Louis County officials who have sought consultation from the Justice Department, which is conducting a civil rights investigation into the shooting death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown in August.

Then, I hope to never hear about that dump of a place ever again. Let them wallow in their own "victory".
Holder putting the squeeze on them? Another consent decree?
So where was the federal civil rights investigation into the Durham police department, for its role in the attempted frame-up of three innocent white Duke students for a crime which never happened?
Those students were threatened by uniformed, militant black panthers (ie, the “klan with a tan”), whose leader also met privately with the DA, and one of whose members made death threats against a defendant inside a courtroom.
Had the colors been reversed, one can believe that the DOJ and FBI would have hastened there in a heartbeat.
Instead, the DOJ steadfastly refused to get involved.
(But it will hasten to the circus that is Ferguson, of course.)
Does the DOJ exist to insure justice—or just to insure ‘social peace’, even if that means sacrificing innocents?
the chief can always refuse to retire.
If they were all that great as police officers I doubt they would have been on the Ferguson PD to begin with. The police departments for all these tiny St. Louis suburbs don't pay very well to begin with, and ones like Ferguson and Berkeley and Kinloch with their demographics pay even less so they don't attract the highest quality recruits. They tend to get the ones who want to be police but who can't qualify for St. Louis PD or the county sheriff or the departments of the more affluent suburbs.
According to local radio news this morning the chief has denied that he is resigning.
Their math is bad, lets see if they trade their White Anglo Saxon mile for a more sophisticated kilometer...
Of course...
Don’t sweat it about the police officer who was punched in the face and had to put the guy down or accept death.
Which side of the issue did the Ferguson Police Chief support? The cops or the Race Hustlers?
I've seen several senior police commanders in Missouri doing a Politically Correct song-and-dance when they talk to the MSM.
maybe if we make them an offer...written in cursive.....
>> Result will be a town which is 99% black in a few years.
Fully and productively employed, too, I’m sure. ;-)
Translation:
The police department must hire some strong-arm thugs so that it is representative of the make-up of the community, otherwise the strong-arm thugs in the "Justice" Department will take illegal action against the city.
Democrats FIXING things......
WHAT COULD GO WRONG?,,,
And the town will go to hell. Another garbage dump.
” Another garbage dump.”
Don’t talk about East Saint Louis, IL that way.
“The racial makeup (2010) of the city was 0.9% White, 98.0% Black or African-American.”
Had a population of 82,000+ in 1950; less 27,000- in 2010.
All the white cops are under fire, merely for being white cops. The race baiters and race activists have seen to that.
They should all resign and leave Ferguson to its own devices.
I’m sure they could find employment elsewhere.
I would hope that every officer in ferguson turn in their badge and give the city their middle fingers. Let the crowd kill, maime and destroy each other when the verdict comes in. They deserve nothing less.
Fire the whole force and hire local hoods. The community deservers a police force that “looks like” the community it serves.
