First, I want to make one thing perfectly clear: It is the stated position of Erick and the mods that Red State advocates voting for the most conservative candidate in the primaries, and the Republican in the general election. I agree with that, and it is not my intent here to troll or disrupt. Anyone who has read my earlier diaries knows that. However, if those in charge feel this diary strays over the line, they should take it down.
People, this is MISSISSIPPI. This is totally different. What has happened here is an abomination. Everyone here knows what was done to Chris McDaniel in the primary and the run-off. The Republican establishment used the vilest, most despicable tactics to renominate a senile fool to the US Senate. They committed massive electoral fraud; they stole the election.
Three months ago, disgusted at what had just occurred in the Magnolia State, I posted a diary, actually, more of a diatribe:
So, would it really be THAT bad if we dont win the Senate in November?
http://www.redstate.com/diary/gawken/2014/06/27/really-bad-dont-win-senate-november/
To my utter astonishment, it was promoted to the front page ( first time ever) and received 140 comments. The majority agreed with my sentiments, and shared my frustrations and disgust.
Since that time, McDaniel has lost several attempts to have the election overturned, and is awaiting the outcome of one last, albeit long-shot court ruling. State law requires that the ballots be printed very soon.
It now appears, less than 5 weeks out, that the Republicans will win control of the Senate. GOP seats in Kentucky and Georgia that were earlier deemed at risk now appear safe. It could well turn into a wave election for the GOP. As we get closer, the polls will be even more accurate. By mid October, we should be able to get a better sense of the size of the incoming Republican majority.
If Cochran is reelected, then the GOPe wins, big time. They literally will get away with stealing an election. And most likely, within a year, Cochran will retire, and Haley Barbour will hand pick his successor.
McDaniel and his supporters have declared war on the state GOPe, and vowed to dismantle the party establishment in 2015. I wish them success. It is long overdue.
But if indeed, this is a war, then why not let it begin now?
With a preemptive strike!
The GOP base, the Tea Party, social conservatives in Mississippi are highly organized and motivated. McDaniels primary campaign demonstrated that.
So, if were some ten days from election day, and all the polls look good, then its easy to use the internet and social media to get the message out to McDaniels supporters:
1. Vote for Childers, or
2. Dont vote for any senate candidate.
That should be more than enough to elect Childers.
I suspect Childers will be a far more moderate senator..I cant see him running to do Reids or Schumers bidding.
Haley Barbour awoke a sleeping giant. Time to pay the piper!
And I would remind all of you that if the GOP establishment gets away with this, theyll pull out all the stops to keep a real conservative from getting nominated for the White House. Why do you think we are all of a sudden hearing all this talk about more Mitt?
For a multitude of reasons, its time to put Cochran out to pasture, even if doing so requires electing a Democrat.
I suspect Childers will be a far more moderate senator...

Actually, Travis Childers is one of the few old-school, Truman-style, Conservative, Southern Democrats that’s left hanging around. He’s Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, ANTI-Same/Sex Marriage and ANTI-Amnesty.
But, I’m still very surprised this is in a “Redstate” publication. I’ve often wondered what Chris McDaniel and his ardent supporters are going to do in the General Election. I doubt they will vote for Cochran, I just wonder if they will “sit-out” the Senate race or do a “write-in”..... even though write-in votes are not counted. If anyone knows, I’d appreciate hearing from you.
So, per the Constitution (Art.1, Sec.5 I think) the two Congressional houses are the final arbiters of the elections of their members.
In theory that means that the Senate could refuse to recognize the MS election results and refuse to seat Cochrane. It takes a simple majority.
But I don’t see that happening, couldn’t even see Cruz or Lee or Paul or Sessions supporting it.
“Anything that would keep Harry Reid in power is WRONG.
Better strategy: Vote REPUBLICAN and then proceed to torment THAD for 6 years. He will at least organize and vote with Republicans.
We MUST take Reid out as Leader of the Senate.
Losing is no plan.”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
This. So very this. Thank you.
But who cares about that when we need to teach the GOP a lesson for being better at winning races than we are?
We conservatives make poor efforts at winning primaries but are masters at tossing general elections out of spite.
As if the GOPE will run out of RINOS next time around.
If these “let the dems win” geniuses have some way to prevent the crap that we will get from a Dem-controlled government from affecting us, then I would gladly ditch voting for the GOP.
But as long as their strategy amounts to teaching people lessons and praying, then they can get bent with that.
Learn to win primaries and get a funding sources outside of the “stupid party” then we can talk trying to play cute in the general election.
Another idiot posting. When will it stop?

Yeah, that will teach them a lesson...
This message brought to you by Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz.
This is way too funny. Don’t worry though, My Wife’s Family in Mississippi will probably Vote for the Democrat since most of them have contracted Libola.
You are right.
Let’s lose.
If we eliminate all of the GOPe we will have a good solid base of 10 Senators to work with.
That’s the plan? Let Reid/Obama/Schumer/Clinton/Durbin run the country off the cliff and when the damage is beyond catastrophic we can start rebuilding with Conservatives, who the survivors will naturally turn to.
That is what passes for deep thinking anymore on FR.
Another idiot posting. When will it stop?

I have to believe that many of these “teach the GOPe a lesson by getting Liberal Democrats elected” posters here are paid plants of the Tides Foundation.
Two points:
You cannot ‘teach’ the GOPe a lesson. They would rather a Democrat take a seat than see a Conservative in it. For them, short term pain fulfills long-term goals: ridding the GOP of Conservative relevance.
They hate Conservatives as much as the Democrats do and they will employ the vile and the despicable to rid the party of any Conservative running as we saw in MS.
They have already told us that they intend to surrender power to the Democrats and govern as Democrats BEFORE the Congress is even seated.
But it is not just what they did in MS and the primaries to sabotage Conservatives - witness the fact that Conservatives on the General ballot next week are saying that they are getting no help against the Democrats by national GOP PACs. None. Just ask Scott Walker. Just ask Dan Bongino.
TWO:
The GOP was not, and IS NOT a Conservative party. Reagan gave Conservatives a home within the party - but the Establishment was embarrassed by Reagan, and loathed him more than they did the Democrats. The Rockefeller Establishment has spent the last 30 years working to render Conservative influence in the party irrelevant and rigged the internal structure to ensure that Conservatives cannot ‘take over the party from within’.
The Ruling Class GOP will work hand-in-hand with Democrats to sabotage Conservatives. That is why I refer to the Ruling Class GOP as Judenrats for the MarxoFascists.
It’s too late to perform a hostile takeover with elections themselves filled with such incredible levels of fraud and corruption. The solution has to come from OUTSIDE the corrupted systems and from OUTSIDE the institutions and apparatus of D.C.
Elections are not going to fix where we find ourselves as a nation.
Good post..
What specific actions do you plan to take, that can realistically "torment" a malfeasant Republican politician, or "hold his feet to the fire"?
These people only want your vote. You always vote for them; you have no hold over them. Again, what are you going to do? What have you been doing?
A majority of Blacks, Jews, and Catholics (for example, and in that order of majority) vote for democrats. Always. And democrats defecate on them.
People like you always vote for Republicans. And the Republicans defecate on you.
Like I said’ enjoy Reid, and Obamas court nominations. You deserve it.
“So, per the Constitution (Art.1, Sec.5 I think) the two Congressional houses are the final arbiters of the elections of their members.

Good info, thanks. I agree, I don’t see that happening either, but I could see incessantly hounding him, keeping him from key committee appointments, and otherwise making it very uncomfortable for him and anyone else thinking of resorting to the low-life tactics that got him re-elected.
If we are fortunate to win a clear majority and win the Presidency in 2016, we should find a way to harass him into resigning. At his age, it might not take much.
Make the GOPe pay the price where it counts, in the pocketbook. Vote Maness in Louisiana and the Libertarians in Georgia. Force Carl Rove and Mitch McConnell (and their counterparts in the Democratic Party) to pay for run-off campaigns.
....willing to destroy the country just to get even with Republicans.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
I hate to tell you this, but, this country is already destroyed. Gay marriages, killing babies in the womb, Government-run Health Care, over-run with illegals who are slowly taking over our nation, Lesbian mayor subpoenaing anti-same/sex marriage sermons from Pastors, so huge a debt our great-grandkids will be paying on it and an imminent Market Crash and full-blown Depression that will finish us off....... All of the above have already helped destroy this nation and it’s all here to stay; nothing will be repealed. No turning back.
You guys who stayed home, enjoying the last couple of years are you?
Your Post #17: RIGHT ON!!!
I’ve yelled and NRSC and RNC telemarketers about this. I specifically mentioned McDaniel. He was a good foot soldier.
But in the long run, Reid and SCOTUS are the targets, along with the 0bama agenda. These must be stopped. We are nearly at the end of what is this country. I am both furious and disheartened.
It’s not like I really expect much from Republicans in Congress, either. But I will fight as long as I am able.
‘But who cares about that when we need to teach the GOP a lesson for being better at winning races than we are?’
McDaniel got more votes than Cochran in the primary. Cochran ‘won’ the run-off by appealing to black Dem voters. He—rather, the Barbours—convinced these poor people that if McDaniel won they would see their rights and other benefits abolished.
“Another reported anti-McDaniel flier claimed that the tea party intends to prevent blacks from voting and accused McDaniel of racist comments and a voting history at odds with black voters.”
All in all, in a variety of vicious, underhanded tactics and maneuvers, Cochran’s team smeared McDaniel with absolute, reprehensible racist lies.
So this is what you call ‘learning to win’. You admire it.
That is sick.
