FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) Missouri police have been brushing up on constitutional rights and stocking up on riot gear to prepare for a grand jury's decision about whether to charge a white police officer who fatally shot a black 18-year-old in suburban St. Louis.
The preparations are aimed at avoiding a renewed outbreak of violence during the potentially large demonstrations that could follow an announcement of whether Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson will face a criminal trial for the Aug. 9 death of Michael Brown.
Police and protesters have repeatedly clashed since the shooting, which prompted a national conversation about race and police tactics. Images of officers in riot gear and armored vehicles confronting protesters have drawn widespread criticism.
Many protesters want Darren Wilson indicted for murder. Grand jury proceedings are secret, but legal analysts say recently leaked information about Wilson's testimony to investigators may be an attempt to prepare the public for the possibility that he might not be charged.

After the 1968 convention, Nixon tried to sit on “a lead” and nearly lost. It’s hard to believe that Nixon won IL and MO that year.
> Wheres the officer? Why is he hiding? If what he did was perfectly legit where is he?
Do you think a black thug cares if what he did was justified? No. He would kill him for bragging rights. You and I, we’re reasonable, logical...them not so...
The officer should stay out of sight. He should resign and find another line of work or get a name change and move out of the area. Thugs will be looking to increase their street cred by killing someone like Wilson.
He’s acting guilty

Witnesses before a Grand Jury CAN talk about what they experienced when being questioned and what they said. (I was questioned for about 2 hours before a Federal Grand Jury.)
Members of a Grand Jury can NOT talk to anyone outside the jury room about what they have heard, until after a decision to indict or no bill has been made.
Read post 35. I think you’re wrong. Not about all of them, but about some of them. You’re over thinking IMO
Yes and no. They agreed with Wilson that Brown was advancing on him when shot, but they still thought the shooting was wrong and that Brown was an innocent victim. They'll be just as convinced that no indictment is a complete injustice as any other black person.
Obama says that we have to have "a national conversation on race." I say the national conversation we need to be having is on the police, specifically, on whether we want the police to enforce the law or not. I have been driving for literally decades through downtown here, and when I hit downtown, there are all manner of black jaywalkers; as I leave, all manner of white ones. They are all idiots, to my mind, and all breaking the law, but only the white ones seem aware of it.
I've seen two black jaywalkers screaming about someone who kept driving while they were in the walkway, "I'm in the crosswalk; I had the right of way." Another guy, who was crossing in the middle of the street and nearly got creamed, complained the buddy he'd just joined, "I'm a pedestrian, they all should have stopped for me."
One reason a lot of section-eight neighborhood black people believe "the police are out to get me" is that they flat out don't know the law. Or if they know it, they don't think it really counts. My brother loses his driver's license because he was lost all his points doing dumb stuff like driving with only parking lights on, he accepts that. Black guy in this neighborhood loses his license for the same sort of things says he shouldn't have lost his license because he "didn't do anything wrong. I wasn't even drunk!" -- and also blames only the cop who gave out the ticket that cost the last points.
If Ferguson city fathers are smart..they could combine the expect violent demonstrations with their urban renewal plan. Just designate the most blighted 10 square blocks or so of the city..and tell the “people” they can trash it, burn it down..no arrests..no tickets..the cops and fire dept will be there on standby
The local “community organizers” are “demanding justice” and justice in their eyes seems to be “lynching whitey” is the only option!
> All true.
Still, stereotypes get to be stereotypes for a reason.
Stereotypes just means noticing repeating patterns that are consistent among a certain group of people based on experience over time. The groups that get labeled who don’t like it know there’s a ring of truth to it and they know it makes them look bad. And it should if it’s bad behavior.
I don't expect any trouble in my little, lily white town, population 1,600 souls but I live the boy scout motto, I'm prepared.
I'm sure it's the same in little towns and rural areas all across the country. You couldn't pay me to live in a city of size, they are all rotten to the core because that's where liberals congregate.
NO TAXPAYER MONEY TO REBUILD, either.
Are you even following this story? He did call for backup -- he thought. When Brown was fighting with him in the car, the radio got bashed, changing the channel. Although I have doubts whether the back up would have shown up in time if the message had gone through. This happened fast; if it hadn't been so fast, going on all the video taken afterwards, there'd be video of the event.
Wheres the officer?

Last thing I read a couple of weeks ago was that he was staying in an adjacent State.
yeah, he should have called for backup before engaging.
The mob doesn’t want justice, they want a lynching.
I keep telling people that Zimmerman was an easy indictment for political reasons. Lone neighborhood watch volunteer.
Cops are different. They have enormous political power, a lot of it stemming from the fact that if they just go passive aggressive things get really bad really quick. The state and local politicians and bureaucrats know this. The national ones (Obama and Holder) just don’t care: they have their own political axes to grind and the latitude to do so.
And you seem to be embracing obtuseness.

“The black community is a dissociative, reflexive and violent hive-mind that will do anything to preserve its persecution fantasy ...”
Hard to say it any better than that.
