The man who allegedly struck two soldiers with his car in Quebec and was killed after a police chase had become radicalized and was known to federal authorities, the Prime Ministers Office said Monday.
The 25-year-old hit-and-run suspect was shot after a police chase Monday in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, located about 50 kilometres southeast of Montreal.
Before the chase ensued, he allegedly struck two members of the Canadian Armed Forces, who were on foot in a strip mall parking lot. One of the soldiers is now in critical condition, while the other suffered minor injuries.

He was fine right up till when he got radicalized.
Gee, ya think?
Highway Jihad. Film at 11.
Odd that they dont even give a name....to the “suspect” no?
probably one of those wild eyed Amish Jihad Types
my BEST guess?...Mohammed Ackbar Hussein Mohammed
Well,a least they weren’t beheaded like that British soldier was not too long ago.And this was on the streets of London no less.
Canada Ping!
I think his name was Mohammed Pierre Bouchard Akbar.
Below the 49th parallel? “Workplace incident”
Above the 49th? Terrorism. (At least until October 2015!)
ah.... Kway Beck....OUI!!!
Martin Rouleau- aged 25 years. Said known to police and became radicalised.
Prayers for the two soldiers, harming nobody and cut down. This cowardly swine is well dead.
Hope he was shot by a female Police Officer
...and sniffed about by a dog?
The dead jihadist was named Ahmed Roleau.
Spoke excellent French and English. But he didn’t have warm or fuzzy feelings for Quebec and Canada.
There are a lot more like him out there.
Man converted to Islam this year. Neighbours concerned over his attitude of late. Conservative MP questioned the Prime Minister on the happening. I think we are going to see a red flag warning about our military. Already being called terrorism by some.
One less terrorist in any case.
No terrorist intent certainly. Just another instance of parking lot violence.
Now you *are* aware,I assume, that there are large portions of Canada that are south of the 49th parallel. ;-)
Ever been to Windsor? I drove through it once and was stunned to see palm trees waving in the breeze!
I can recall the 1941 film called The 49th Parallel. It somehow gave the impression that the dividing line between the two countries was this parallel. General impressions way back can give rise to mistakes as I have found out to my embarrassment.
Anyway a huge propaganda film. Created by Pressburger and Powell to bring US opinion to support Britain WW2. Seven bad Nazi U-Boat crew and one "good, anti-Nazi German". Hiking across Canada. Of course the attack on Pearl Harbor did bring the USA into the war, not British propaganda.
