Now you *are* aware,I assume,that there are large portions of Canada that are south of the 49th parallel. ;-)

Ever been to Windsor? I drove through it once and was stunned to see palm trees waving in the breeze!

Soldier hit by vehicle has died. Perpetrator known to have been put on no fly list and passport confiscated. Was on face book with a headscarf mask jihad style. Prime Minister Harper has called it terrorism and no obfuscation.

I can recall the 1941 film called The 49th Parallel. It somehow gave the impression that the dividing line between the two countries was this parallel. General impressions way back can give rise to mistakes as I have found out to my embarrassment.

Anyway a huge propaganda film. Created by Pressburger and Powell to bring US opinion to support Britain WW2. Seven bad Nazi U-Boat crew and one "good, anti-Nazi German". Hiking across Canada. Of course the attack on Pearl Harbor did bring the USA into the war, not British propaganda.

Born and raised in d'Ottawa. Yes, I am aware that there is even a portion of ON that is farther south than portions (admittedly, VERY small portions of CA) of CA (Point Pelee, to be exact.) The 49th parallel is often noted as the border because that is the dividing line (theoretically) from Lake of the Woods, ON to the Pacific Ocean, except for Gulf Islands and the San Juan Islands. Under _resident Ebola, crimes committed by muhamedans CANNOT EVER be terrorism, because, after all, it is a religion of "peace pieces"! North of the border, Harper readily admits there is terrorism in Canada.

AFA visiting Windsor? Only once, on a visit to Detroit, did I enjoy the thrill of driving through Windsor. BTW, Windsor is south of Detroit, due to the flow of the St. Clair River connecting L Erie to L Ontario. Neither city made a positive impression on me.
