Many conservative voters are disillusioned at the Republicans for not standing up for their principles, for compromising with the Democrats, for having no spines etc. etc. They vow not to vote for the Republicans, or outright vote for the Democrats, to send them a message, to teach them a lesson. I think this kind of message/lesson serves no purpose but to cut off your own supply of oxygen.
Almost all the Republicans rejected obumbocrap (obamacare) but Harry Reid and his crooked Dems jammed it through deviously. The House Republicans have passed many legislations to repeal obumbocrap but Reid et al killed them all. The House Republicans have passed many good legislations but Reid and his crooks buried them all. The media blasted the Republicans on all their good constitutional/conservative acts, but remained silent on the Democrats' constant acts to destroy the constitution. This is a known fact and all of us always complain about it. Yet we are not showing any understanding of the difficult situations facing the House Republicans. While the Dem voters are behind their Dems 100%, we are demanding perfection while offering no help. We blame the Republicans for this and that but we are not working hard to create an opportunity or situation where they can stand on their principles and serve us faithfully. Why don't we vote them into majority in both House and Senate, so they have more control and feel less pressured to compromise, but more encouraged to listen to us to enact constitutional legislations for the good of the country. This is not excuses for the Republicans' non-performance. It is simply a fact that a good person can only do so much under difficult situations! We should understand that it is human nature to be rather weak, especially when under pressure. But given the favorable situations we are more likely to stand up taller for our principles. Remember when the Republicans were the majority in both Houses - even with a Democrat president Clinton, Congress was able to serve the people well! So if we are able to vote the Republicans into the majority, we just might be able to influence them into reversing the course to get our country back on the right track. Considering that many people have awaken and patriots are much more enthusiatically engaged in shaping government policies, we can realistically hope to get better leaders who will listen to the people again. All we need to do is unite and vote the crooks out but vote the acceptable albeit imperfect Republican candidates in, then work hard to influence them...
Certainly, with rampant voter fraud, ignorant and low-information voters, AND, the conservatives who vow to stay home or vote for the Dems, there is no hope that the Republicans will be in control of both Houses. It was said that those conservatives who wouldn't vote for the Republicans are part of the reasons why the Dems won the elections. So these conservatives are in effect cutting off the supply of oxygen to their own hopes (and our hopes)!
History suggests that the Republicans are more constitution-abiding leaders. We need to create the opportunities for them to abide to the constituion - by voting them into majority and then pressuring them into serving the people the way they should.
I will gladly concede that Lyndon W. Bush did more damage to the Republican brand than anyone. Why would I sign on to a mid-term election campaign that is now being orchestrated by his political strategist?
Again, what purists? Funny that we who are fighting to retain what makes the country America...principled governance...are the bad guys huh?
Well, we suspect it won't be the Republicans joining the fight.
No, we do not view life through a paper towel tube.
We have a broader view of what conservatism can be
We ‘purists’ are on our own now. Since some ‘conservatives’ started batting for the opposing team.
Works for me. Sometimes doing the right thing really does mean doing it alone...relatively speaking.
They aren’t RINOs.
Reagan was the “RINO”, the Republican Party has always been the Milquetoast , Rockefeller Republican party that you see today, outside of the Reagan years. They simply returned to their normal state once Reagan left the White House.
What an individual does at the voting booth has consequences and no amount of “I’t’s not my fault” can escape reality of who is now in charge and who occupies the white house. Only those who failed to vote, or cast the protest vote for the candidate destined to lose, but nevertheless the anointed and so called “principled” candidate should bear the burden of the world so many of us didn’t ask for but now have to live with.
So who is worse, the ones we know are the enemy, or the ones we believe gave us the enemy in protest of perceived wrongs committed by the R party.
Yea. Liberal Republican. Some view. Big tent too.
The problem is you don’t know your enemy.
back under your rock.....
But they are - you just can't process them properly.
Sorry, I don’t have a rock.
You’re dodging my point which is that most of the purist crowd really doesn’t think conservatism can prevail within the political system of this country. That’s the dirty little cynical secret of the purists. Your real hope is in SHTF, not in doing long term hard work.
Do you really think it is the rinos in congress that didn’t stop obumbo? Are you forgetting that the Dems are in control every step and give the Rep no chance to do anything worthwhile? Could it be the media’s misinformation and disinformation affect you conservative people too - make you think it is all the rep’s faults?
Not sure what you mean by "sign on to" - but as far as casting your vote - I would only say that you need to understand that it is you, not Rove, who will be "taught a lesson" if the Democrats win. And if you doubt my years long anti Rove credibility, let me know.....I can cure that.
When you define purist we can go from there. Since we’ are all good with a candidate that hits a legit 80%, what do you call pure? Siding with libs 1 in 5 times is too ‘pure’ for you?
And again, Not 2 days ago the GOP announced clearly that if they win, Amnesty passes. did you miss it? You good with Amnesty? vote to empower them and you sure as hell are.
Or is it more evil when Zero does it by EO.
do tell...
Speaking of credibility and common core math.
Pardon my cynicism, but I still remember the idiocy of a Federal government that couldn't come to a consensus on authorizing funding for our military campaigns but had no problem garnering nearly unanimous support in Congress in 2003 for a Federal law to protect Americans from -- now get this -- TELEMARKETERS. WTF? LOL.
Can you name 1 Rino that supports gays and abortion?
If they openly support gays and abortion we know they are not even Rino.
please show me the difference between a Boner led house vs a Polousey led house.Everything Obama wants gets funded anyway and conservatives are cut out of the process.
We have to elect liberal republicans because they will do the right thing when we need them to.Conservatives need to support liberal republican candidates so we have the numbers. We need to trust the leadership every time they compromise with the democrats by giving them every thing they want because it’s all part of a secret master strategy. Conservatives need to be patient and support the leadership because they need to realize that you can’t get everything you want. When the conservative candidate beats the liberal republics in the primary and gets no support from the leadership in the general election thats because the leadership knows their unelectable and won’t appeal to the mainstream voter. When the liberal republican beats the conservative candidate the time for debate is over and we must close ranks to give Boehner and McConnell the numbers necessary to win.The best way to get out our message to the voters is to run ads saying I’m proud of my congressman John Boner he stands with me! Avoid any social issues as these only appeal to those church going morons! It’s not about shrining government but managing it more effectively.
Why are you staying home and not sending any cash!
