Thanks, man.
I know I do.
Life does not revolve around what you think, but the same could be said for many here.
This site was a gathering place to compare notes and plan for strategy on how to beat the libs at their game. To recover the once free republic.
Beat libs at their game?
Doesn't that entail sinking down to their level? — I thought this site was supposed to be a conservative gathering ground
and about principles.
It appears more and more it is a place to fuck your friends, because they don't see eye to eye.
I'll admit that I can get carried away; I never claimed otherwise.
I'll admit that I'm opinionated and think I'm right (who doesn't?) — but I really do try not to fuck my friends
.
But it must be asked, are those that pressure you to violate principles you value really your friend? — Possibly, I can think of several ways such might come about… but this near-religious alignment with a party (one that has, by its recent actions, shown itself at odds with recovering this once free republic
) ain't it.
Good luck in you endeavors, you might possibly need it.
Aye, thank you — a little luck would be good right about now.
Remember Trent Lott and the 51-49 Senate? Old Trent was racing across the aisle to negotiate a power sharing agreement even though he held the majority.Did you think Harry Reid would do that? I would love to have faith in the republicans but their record shows otherwise.
We have two choices, either support the inept turncoat establishment leadership and hope they will get better or leave them to fend for themselves. If we keep rewarding “leadership” who sells us out and expects us to vote and send money yet tells us what we want isn’t even an option then we deserve what we get.The democrats never give up fighting for their principals and will oppose everything conservatives propose or anyone we nominate. You never see them sell out their position to make deals.Yet our leadership will allow Obama to stack the federal bench with the best the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center has to offer.
One finally thought. Do you really want a leadership that is always outsmarted and manipulated by Nancy Pelosi and Patty Murray? Those mental midgets? You won’t get new leadership until the old guard is gone and we can rebuild. The other option is we can leave and start a real conservative party. But until I see something from them I’m not buying the elect them or the democrats win. They’ve had 6 years under Bush with the House,Senate, and Presidency and it sucked. They’ve had the House for 4 years. Again show me one thing they’ve done effectively other than make sure that Cantor will have a well paying job with access that will allow him help the leadership craft policy since the primary voters had a tantrum.
First step (!)
Beat libs at their game? Doesn't that entail sinking down to their level?
Well, yeah. Got to get down to where their though patterns are, in order to understand the drift, and make appropriate counter strategy.
I thought this site was supposed to be a conservative gathering ground and about principles.
The principle objective is to destroy liberalism in the US. Everywhere, fumigate, and remove the stench.

The only thing you have to do, is breathe.
Everything else is a choice. Life is a series of choices.
Anyone who says you have to do this or that, tell them to F off.
.You, you, decide what you need to do for your own individual application.
Those who rag on you because you do not do as they say, screw them. But, it works both ways. You are in no position to gather up someone else's responsibilities and decide for them what is best for them.
Regards wishing you luck. It is a sincere wish. In everything you deem worthy of your attention.
That's not beating them at their own game.
Beating them at their own game would be, e.g., becoming a master con-artist in order to pull a con on the con-men.

And we aren't going to destroy the stench
if we wallow around in its own filth. — The proper course, IMO, would be to take a shower.

Aye — And I do my best to respect their moral free-agent
-ness.
That doesn't absolve me of any responsibility from trying to warn them that they're about to run off a cliff with the bridge-out when I see it though…
just that I cannot make their decision for them.
Regards wishing you luck. It is a sincere wish. In everything you deem worthy of your attention.
Thank you.
It's something that is sincerely needed — been getting the crap-end of everything in life for the past few years, honestly discouraged and disappointed in life, and it is honestly very good to have someone (who isn't obligated
) wish me well.
I see approximately ten people a day, 5 days a week, for the last 31 years.
Lots of variation, to say the least.
Everybody has issues. Some look easy, (let me at it, I can fix that problem) others, I only shudder and thank the Lord it is not me.
If you have problems at this juncture, consider it another test. If you fail, you will repeat it, over and over, until you graduate. You see, you are destined to do so, until you prevail.
That is your lot.
Don't ever be bummed at what the Lord deals. Say thank you and play the hand.
Well, sometimes it IS hard to say thank you!
Your thinking makes a lot of sense....I would probably do the same but I think its a hard call as I still want Obama blocked ....two equally bad choices in this scenario
While it may feel good to 'stick it to the RNC and GOPe, and RINOs i general, it usually ads up to poking yourself in the eye to spite your face. It comes down to, "Do I want to put my hand on this red-glowing burner and leave my scorched palm behind, or would I rather put it down on the warm one and suffer discomfort?"
Most of those, who like you, that use these cutesy sayings to justify their positions (vs. actually articulating why your methodology is going to stem the leftward plunge) actually tell yourselves that Romney would have been every bit as bad as Obama - lunacy.
wow you are dumber than I thought. You didn’t provide a single whiff of evidence for what you say. I hate to break it to your pea brain, but quoting what others have said to me is NOT EVIDENCE of anything I’ve said.
what a moron.
I’m hard pressed to think of much that the GOP as a whole has done to earn votes.
IRS? Benghazi? Fast & Furious? Spending? Limited government?
Just recently, members of the GOP were screaming for an expansion via an Ebola Czar.
So, from what I can tell, we’re supposed to support them because.... HARRY REID! But based on their votes and lack of results, they seem to be more closely aligned with him than us..
Like I said earlier, I’m over it. 2012 was the last time I sucked it up and hauled myself out to vote for the “lesser evils” because it was TEH MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION EVAH! (like always) and in the two years since, the GOP has made it abundantly clear what they think of conservative voters and issues important to them.
But, I think people here trying to cajole conservatives into dashing out and pulling the “R” lever should just chill.
If your elected reps have done a good job, by all means, vote for them, but neither my senator nor rep have earned my vote this cycle. If they win and perform better between 14-16, I’ll take another look but I’m not holding my breath as I fully expect their excuse making to begin immediately on issues like ridding us of Obamacare. And I expect they’ll ram an amnesty of some sort through. I’m not going to be a party to it.
Again, I’ll vote and support most of the down ticket Republicans but that’s about it. The jig is up with this voter.
Which means the gop doesn’t care what you think if you are going to vote anyway.
Dan I Wichita succinctly summed up what many feel and is exactly why the public has been able to absorb some of the most liberal policies without much fight. Why? Because liberals used intelligence, strategy, something the stupid party lacks greatly in. Had liberals been up front and come right out and thrust 100% of their change driven agenda at once the public would have rejected it outright as hostile and extremist. They have successfully done this over decades and now we must do the same. This could not be made any more simple....PUSH AS HARD AS YOU CAN to get the most conservative person into positions of leadership DURING PRIMARIES..PUSH push push...however should our chosen person lose to a less conservative cantidate learn from it and work harder next time. Work then on the one chosen just as hard their entire time in office to adopt more conservative platforms as liberals have successfully done with theirs not left enough. But to do as some suggest when ours doesn’t win is no different than voting the liberal in. To sit at home, to cast a vote for the Democrat is sharing the culpability.
Yep. Voting for them is rewarding them for failure and outright hostility towards conservatives, and that’s not going to happen.
It’s not about rewards. If you don’t vote in numbers they don’t care. The reason they don’t care about conservatives is either we don’t vote or we vote for whoever the candidate is. We have no power that they haven’t been able to marginalize. We need to pick a good candidate in the primaries and support the hell out of them.
With respect, driftdiver, because I really don’t want to flame over this: if the GOP doesn’t care how Nickname votes, why do you?
I appreciate your answer. And I respect your choice.
This. Times a trillion.
Based on my (admittedly not comprehensive) personal contacts, a large number of American businesses can't wait until they can quit being health care administrators, by dropping their insurance plans and moving all their employees onto Obamacare.
They are x-ing off the days on the calendar until 2017 when they can do this.
That's the real reason why there will be no Obamacare repeal.
Far as I know, Jim, none of those are on anyone's ballot this year.
People who are on the ballot include:
Mitch McConnell, Scott Brown, Shelly Capito, Pat Roberts, Thad Cochran.
Every one of them has been called a RINO at one time or another here on FR.
Are you likewise advocating that they all should lose??
But that's just it, it isn't warm and some discomfort
vs scorched palm; to use your analogy it's a bright white vs a dazzling white. (ref)
In this case it's both that are terrible and will damage you, there is no "least bad" because the effects are exactly the same. — Remember NY-23, remember Mississippi? Remember the 2012 RNC's rigged voice-vote? Remember the retroactive rule-changes in the primaries to give delegates to Romney? — All of these clearly show that the GOP do not want any principles or ideologies which will impede their elitist vision. (And that vision is the same as the Democrat one.)
These show that the GOP consider the Democrats to be more in-step with them than their base.
Most of those, who like you, that use these cutesy sayings to justify their positions (vs. actually articulating why your methodology is going to stem the leftward plunge) actually tell yourselves that Romney would have been every bit as bad as Obama - lunacy.
And how, just how, is voting for people who clearly would rather have the other guy, the one that's worse
, than someone who more accurately represents the principles of the base going to move the party towards the principles the base values? That is the question that the GOPe cheerleaders cannot, and will not, answer.
