This story is developing. Please check back for further updates.
Yep, with liberals, they finally get it when it affects their OWN lives..heard Ashleigh Banfield, big time Obama kiss asser, say on air that she was recently on a plane with her children..gee Ashleigh its all about YOU isnt it..that is how liberals think, before it was no big deal because “Hey its just someone in a red state” now its coming to their own backyards too and they don’t like it
“Getting on a plane was the height of irresponsibility.”
I’m not arguing the personal responsibility part, but in the case of an infectious disease, we need to do more than use the honor system.
The CDC said they were monitoring every single person that could have caught it.
Apparently they failed.
“The CDC says the second nurse with Ebola flew on a Frontier Airline flight from Cleveland to DFW the day before she tested positive.”
When did she take the flight to Cleveland from Dallas? That one could be suspect as well.
And the CDC was monitoring her, and thought flying about was just fine and dandy?
What have the idiots who run our government done now?
http://thecount.com/2014/10/14/who-ebola-incubation-period-42-days-not-21/
In the quoted WHO statements the period is 42 days. True, only 3 - 5% of infections happen after 21 days, but that seems to be a pretty high number for something this serious.
Until this stops, the spread will increase and more people will die. They may even wait until there is no alternative to martial law...
must have been a low information voter.
“A Frontier Airlines plane is on a remote runway at Hopkins Airport being cleaned.”
It has carried about 2,200 passengers since the Ebola nurse and before the cleaning.
Yes. She was in Akron for several days.
All you say is true.
You see the CDC as being incompetent. I don’t.
My wife works in a hospital and very involved in quality measurements and dealing with the emergency management group (the team that is responsible for dealing with chemical spills, mass casualty drills, quarantines, etc). The stories she tells about trying to coral doctors and nurses into training and planning sessions makes me cringe.
It seems that this week, they are getting their act together.
Remember, as my tag line says, Death is a lagging indicator. The mistakes made two weeks ago are showing up now. Changes made to the processes two weeks ago, would not have prevented these mistakes.
The first victims of this are almost always healthcare workers. This is mostly because when the virus breaks the first responders are not thinking of ebola. Especially here in the US. So, mistakes made those first couple of days are showing up now.
The area where I think the CDC screwed up is not making a BIG deal out of sending help to Texas. They should have had a damned parade of people going there to fix the problem. Not because they would have been able to change anything, but to present the image that the government is coming down on this with a huge hammer—to make sure it doesn’t spread.
Aside from that, I guess the public is seeing the healthcare system for what it is: A huge machine with a lot of parts that do not take their jobs any more or less serious on a daily basis than anyone else.
Having an “in” with the Doctors and Hospitals allows me to know some “inside baseball”, and some of it was surprising.
None of Duncan’s hazmat was treated like hazmat. It was piled in a corner up to the ceiling. Texas Presby had no protocols for this. Nurse’s union is furious on Breitbart.
I stand corrected ..... let’s just call him a “Son of Africa”.
They did not announce the second case until after she got tot he airport, by my calculations. As slow as CNN and others were to pick it up, she may not have known. I didn’t see the second case until Monday, and I check the news. Visiting family, she might not have known until she got home.
Friedan Just Now:
One Dallas Ebola Patient to be flown to CDC Atlanta.
A LITTLE FRIKKEN LATE, DONCHA THINK, NUMBNUTZ???
Yes, that colonist payback theme crossed my mind last week. Obie hates America and Americans - all natural born Americans.
SHE VISITED HER FAMILY.
Her family is now exposed, too.
Some reports they went to the Pittsburgh - Cleveland NFL game. I hope those are not true.
Agree.
“We don’t know” does not mean “it can’t happen”
2nd health worker will be the 1 transferred to Emory for treatment, CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden says - @abbydphillip
CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden says that in the future they will make sure others being monitored for Ebola will not be allowed to travel on commercial flights - @Reuters
