Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee warns he'll leave the Republican Party if it stops opposing same-sex marriage and abortion.
"I'm gone. I'll become independent. I'll start finding people that have guts to stand. I'm tired of this," he told the American Family Association's radio show.
His comments follow the recent Supreme Court decision not to take up gay marriage.
"I am utterly exasperated with Republicans and the so-called leadership of the Republicans who have abdicated on this issue when, if they continue this direction they guarantee they're gonna lose every election in the future," Huckabee said. "Guarantee it."

What say you?
Last comment, and then I’ll sit back. I believe when Huckabee talked about Republican “leadership,” he was referring to Prince Reibus. I may be wrong though...
The sooner the better. We’re better off without the Huckster.
Fine, be independent. The Constitution Party would be a better place to organize; but whatever.
I am worried Huckleberry Hound will start a third party
anoint himself as the presidential nominee and thus ensure
victory for Hilary Clinton.
Ah, just one more comment...
Should Prince Reibus hit the road, too?
Should the GOP take a stand on both same-sex marriage and abortion, or just abortion and let same-sex marriage go?
Now I am done. Swear...
Let me translate the Huckster for you:
“This is the start of my 2016 Iowa Caucus campaign - because in the oddball little Iowa caucus population, which is teeny tiny by the way, fully 30% of them will vote for whoever makes the most extreme statements on social issues, regardless of how pathetic they are on all other issues. I got that 30% in 08 and Santorum got them in 12, and now I have to beat Santorum to them in 16.”
I’ll start finding people that have guts to stand. I’m tired of this,” he told the American Family Association’s radio.

Why don’t you try “finding people that have guts to stand” now Huckster. You, have endorsed some RINOs in the Primaries over Conservatives you could have counted on. You just need to shut up and GO BACK TO ARKANSAS WITH YOUR FAT UGLY WIFE AND YOUR FAT UGLY KIDS.
Huckabee wants to be the RINO power broker.
No Biggie really. Plenty right here will replace him. They told us over and over “no matter what” and those words have a meaning. They mean that abortion and gay everything are A-OK as long as they ‘win’.
Frauds. Every last one of them.
Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner.
I agree with Huckabee. I am not social warrior, but things like this matter. Whats next? Polygamy? Marrying children?
Who wouldn’t?
God, ain’t that the truth. Whose idea was it to give the few thousand voters that make up about 30% of the GOP Iowa Caucus so much sway? Huckabee, Pat Robertson, Santorum...they keep voting for these total losers, and giving them relevance for no reason other than they vote before everyone else.
So, once he leaves the gop will it be okay to say rino again?
Well done. Besides, if Huckleberry actually meant anything he said, then he would endorse Senator Cruz and stay out of the primaries to avoid vote-splitting with Huckleberry's always-committed southern evangelical supporters. But he won't, because he doesn't. He's a self-serving moron, a useful idiot for the party of Rove to try to force Jeb Bush on us.
They do matter, but there are times to emphasize them and times to emphasize other things. Who knows what the climate will be in 2016, but ‘14 is a time to emphasize other things IMO.
