This crying wolf has to be mitigated to prevent the regime from downplaying this and desensitizing us. Isolate them, investigate their contacts, and tell us when they actually have it.
Good grief. In my own town.....
Officials: patient at Deaconess Hospital evaluated, does not have Ebola
From all I’ve read the ebola tests can tell in 2 or 3 hours, some 30 minutes. Why are we still in the dark?
Scare and no facts.
I was just going to post the same info from NEWS9.com. Hoping that’s accurate....
OK, good
FYI early on you can get false negatives.
Will try to find some info on the tests Sensativity and Specificity.
Nah, it will never arrive in the US...
BREAKING UPDATE: A spokesperson for Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City says they've finished evaluating a patient that had been isolated for exhibiting possible Ebola symptoms, and determined the patient does not have Ebola.
Deaconess Hospital says the patient came to the hospital Thursday night exhibiting possible symptoms of Ebola and was isolated in a negative flow hospital room.
The State Health Department says the patient's landlord had traveled to West Africa recently, but it was later determined that the landlord had visited Cameroon, which is not a country listed as being affected by the virus.
Hospital officials say they are working closely with the CDC and Oklahoma Department of Health and the hospital has released this statement:
"Deaconess Hospital has assessed a patient with symptoms that could be associated with Ebola. Following a careful and thorough review of the patient's symptoms, risk factors and test results, the Department of Health and the CDC have determined that the patient has not been exposed to Ebola. Erring on the side of public safety, the hospital followed all appropriate protocol set forth by the CDC and we are pleased that our staff and processes worked appropriately. The hospital appreciates the cooperation and support of public health authorities. Deaconess is dedicated to providing patients with high quality care in a safe environment."

The test is notorious for false negatives.
They have already confirmed it is not Ebola. Patient had been in contact with someone from Africa and was exhibiting symptoms, but it was not the right region of Africa, and testing was negative.
It must be a rightwing talking point.
Its not right or left, just a scientific fact.
Apparently, there are a lot more false alarms than there are false negatives.
The PCR test is the most accurate, however to avoid a false negative the person needs to by symptomatic for at least 3 days. Therefore, to be sure someone is absolutely negative they would have to be kept in the Hospital 3-5 days. Releasing patients before that amount of time has elapsed is problematic. This was part of the problem in Spain.
Keep him in 21 day quarantine JUST IN CASE.
No it wasn't. The woman(Romero) was begging for the test but they wouldn't give it to her.
Her's was a problem dealing with the lack of symptoms.
