'Why did my uncle die of Ebola while every other patient treated in America has survived?'
Daily Mail ^ | 10/09/2014 | By JOSH GARDNER and MICHAEL ZENNIE and LAURA COLLINS IN DALLAS, TEXAS

The family of Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan are venting their outrage that the late Liberian may not have received the same quality of care leading up to his death Wednesday morning as the other patients treated in the U.S. for the dreaded virus.

'No one has died of Ebola in the U.S. before. This is the first time,' Duncan's furious nephew Joe Weeks told ABC.

Weeks and others in Duncan's family are calling his treatment 'unfair,' after seeing other patients pulled from the brink of death in government-funded evacuation planes and using life-saving blood transfusions and cutting edge drugs.

Five US citizens have been diagnosed with Ebola and three of them have beaten it. NBC News cameraman Ashoka Mukpo, the latest American victim, arrived at the infectious disease ward at the University of Nebraska Medical Center this week for treatment. A fourth victim, a World Health Organization doctor, is being treated in Atlanta.

All five have been flown to specially designed infectious disease wards in Nebraska or Atlanta for treatment by some of the world's top doctors.

The anger from Duncan's family also stems from what happened before Duncan was seen by doctors but after he fell ill - when the Liberian was initially turned sent home by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital - the same hospital that later admitted him.

'What if they had taken him right away? And what if they had been able to get treatment to him earlier,' said Dallas pastor George Mason, a confidante of the family's, according to a CNN report.

While Mason told reporters that Duncan's fiance Louise Troh 'is not seeking to create any kinds of divisions in our community,' she has called for a full review of his medical care.

Multiple family went on record denying reports that Duncan assisted the 19 year old pregnant Ebola victim 4 days prior to his travel to the US.

This family's defensive lies also played a part in the delay of his treatment.

It is embarrassing to witness members of this family complain after all the risks taken on behalf of Duncan by so many people who bothered to care enough to try and save him.

'Why did my uncle die of Ebola while every other patient treated in America has survived?'

Sounds like a shyster, or professional agitator has been speaking to him.

"Thomas Eric Duncan died at 7:51am on Wednesday after receiving no potentially lifesaving blood transfusion or ZMapp"
ANSWER: Wasn't a big time donor or "friend of baraq". Next question:

"He was sent home when he first arrived at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital with symptoms of the disease"
ANSWER: No insurance - go away! SOLUTION: Log onto the the healthcare.gov website to signup for 0bamacare. You'll probably die of old age before you get anywhere and if you do, doctors won't accept it anyway.

"Five other Ebola patients treated in the US are either cured or in the process of being treated at specially designed hospital wards"
ANSWER: You are a valued customer and we really appreciate your business, please continue to hold for our next representative ....

Doctors began giving Duncan an experimental antiviral drug on Monday, but it was too late
ANSWER: There's a silver lining, though - Just enough time for the high rollers to cash out their shares of that drug company.

Dr Kent Brantley and Nancy Writebol received the ZMapp 'miracle drug,' though officials say it has since run out.
ANSWER: Again, Was he a big time donor or "friend of baraq"?

Dr Rick Sacra and NBC cameraman Ashoka Mukpo have received transfusions of Dr Brantley's blood
ANSWER: Al and Jesse would not approve of a black man being transfused from a whitey, besides, Brantley is already running a quart low.

Duncan exposed 48 people to the disease before he was hospitalized, including his fiancée and two of her children
ANSWER: He knew he was sick, yet flew half way around the world to "spread the wealth" - NO THANKS.

Pinhead savages don’t understand that not everyone dies from Ebola. Why aren’t they asking why didn’t all their other countrymen not die from Ebola?

Why did your so called ‘Uncle’ chose to indirectly murder scores of our citizens by knowingly exposing them to a deadly virus? Can you get off you high horse long enough to explain that? I didn’t think so!

And then hand them the hospital bill (that they'll never pay)

Really...the American taxpayers just spent over $500,000 dollars taking care of your illegally flown in uncle and you want to whine about why he died?

The others were flown home with known Ebola, your uncle lied about his contacts and where-a-bouts from the outset. He risked the entire nation’s safety and frankly that of his own family.

I am sorry he died, truly I am...but not everybody is going to survive ebola. And at $1000 per hour to treat people in a hospital...a lot of folks are simply going to die because even our healthcare system cannot afford it. And all those deaths stemming from patient zero Duncan are an assault and murder on American citizens.

What she REALLY meant was: “Why did my uncle knowingly bring Ebola to the United States?”

We should all bring up how the government has allowed our kids to die from the enterovirusD68. Why do some live and some die?

Must be they didn’t get fair medical care.

Hey, lets sue somebody.

The whole family reminds me of Obama’s abandoned (late) Aunt Zeituni, so very arrogant and presumptous with her lawbreaking skills.

Duncan did tell the intake nurse he had been to West Africa but did not tell the intake nurse that he had close contact with an active ebola patient. Because of a computer software glich, the nurses could see the info but the doctor couldn’t. Since the doctor sent Duncan home, my one question is, did Duncan then tell the doctor that he had been to West Africa and did Duncan tell the doctor that he had close contact with a ebola patient? If he didn’t say anything, then how would the doctor know not to send him home? And if Duncan didn’t say anything, how could the family expect the hospital to treat for something they had no knowledge of?

People who had survived, they started taking medication from very beginning. Makes lot of difference.

Correcting earlier comment to reflect the record:
CNN documented multiple family members stating for the record that Duncan had not mentioned his exposure to Ebola prior to diagnosis.

The other known Ebola cases were _brought_ here with well-equipped facilities awaiting them, including the precious few doses of experimental medicines, at pre-arranged costs of millions of dollars provided for each.

This guy shows up on a general flight, hangs around, goes to a random unprepared hospital with the sniffles, deals with unwitting staff who suffer a bad case of cognitive dissonance (a la “he says he has Ebola - RIIIIIIIGHT...”), consents to going home, and is eventually dealt with by a medical branch who deals with it in utter ineptitude. He didn’t make prior arrangements for proper treatment and 7-digit bills paid up front.
