3. Personal protective equipment and procedures
The following PPE should be available for use by personnel providing direct care to the patient or with potential exposure to the patients body fluids, such as during cleaning:
Fit-tested, disposable respirators (at least as protective as fit-tested NIOSH-certified disposable N95 filtering face piece respirators), for use during aerosol-generating procedures if needed.

huh, the same type of mask for SARS?
I’ve never heard of N85 masks. Are you just going by the title which would be wrong as they meant N95.
With all due respect, do we really want to fault them for something someone else typed incorrectly?
I will be surprised if no one else becomes infected in that housing complex. If that vomit remained overnight there had to have been numerous misquitos that fed off the blood in it.
They fed and lay eggs. Repeat...
Then there are the rats in the sewer that his vomit was washed into...
That's EXACTLY what they said about Ebola coming here a week ago.
The way I see spreading in West Africa, the collapsing economies in West Africa, the immigrants that are still allowed to come here (oh I know they are checking, but it's not detectable for 21 days), and the the REFUSAL to secure the border.
I know Common Core says 2 + 2 = 5......
Sorry.... But 2 + 2 really does = 4.
I watched the clown car unload on Friday afternoon with their presser. Wendell Goler and Major Garrett covered it very well. They had spokesmodels from CDC and DSHS, along with a General, and Dr. Fauci.
Not convincing at all. This mask recommendation doesn’t make any sense either.
Why do you trust them?
Or not being told as they want to contain any sort of panic.
N95 filters to 0.30 microns with 95% filtration efficiency. The five strains of Ebola range in size from 0.05 - 0.30 microns. I have stockpiled N100’s because becuase they’re capable of filtering smaller particulates with a 99.97% filtration efficiency. No paper face filter is quaranteed, but I’ll take my chances with N100’s.
Also are you the other resident FR “DoKtor” that says nothing to worry about? Are you Cold Case with a different name? I seem to remember you and him both making excuses that Ebola is nothing to worry bout on several threads.
Sorry.... N95 mask.
Furthermore, the size distribution of coughed droplets of different ages and gender was investigated to identify the effects of age and gender on droplet size distribution. Results indicated the total average size distribution of the droplet nuclei was 0.58-5.42 microm, and 82% of droplet nuclei centered in 0.74-2.12 microm.

Did they (CDC) mention how frequent you should replace the N95 masks?
“I know Common Core says 2 + 2 = 5......
Sorry.... But 2 + 2 really does = 4. “
No, no, no.
Common core sez 2+2=6 (for large values of 2, as 2 approaches 3).
Thanks I’m going to order some N100s
I did say I “was” going to shake my head until I realized it was a typo. But having said that, it wouldn’t be surprising the CDC would make that kind of error or gaffe as we have seen what they are capable these last few weeks.
Would the unusual shape of the Ebola virus have any effect? Seems it doesn’t have any airborne or airborne-like effect until very late stages. Maybe the body temp dropping causes it to fluoresce for lack of a better descriptive word? Struggling for verbiage but it struck me overnight that there’s some likeness to spores. I know it’s not actually, but possibly exhibits some of the behavior? May be silly, but thought I’d air it out for scrutiny.
But as far as infectivity, the facts speak for themselves. We have yet to see another case in all the contacts that Duncan had. We are not out of the woods yet, but without a case in the next few days, we can only conclude that it is difficult to get infected.
It is different when you take off a suit covered in virus-laden blood every day. Then it is easier to get infected. It is different when you ride in a cab that was use to carry an infected corpse. Of course the burial practices were fatal as well. Africa is messed up in ways that we are not.
Sorry I have been up almost 24 hours. Anyway, I should not post when I’m tired.
No argument here,just curious.
Where did you get that 3 Micron figure?
