Ben Affleck launched into an angry debate over religion on TV show "Real Time with Bill Maher" on Friday.

The "Argo" star appeared on a panel discussing current affairs and became incensed when the host Bill Maher and author Sam Harris began talking about radical Islamists because he felt they were stereotyping all Muslims. He interrupted their conversation, asking Harris where he got his facts from, and then told them their talk was "gross" and "racist" before launching into a tirade.

Affleck said, "How about the more than a billion people who are not fanatical, who don't punish women, who just want to go to school, have some sandwiches, pray five times a day and don't do any of the things that 'all Muslims do?' You're stereotyping. You're taking a few bad things and you're painting the whole religion with that same brush." Affleck, who was visibly angered by the discussion, added,"We've killed more Muslims than they've killed us...

He might have a point if the two others did indeed say “all Muslims” do that.

Hell, it is not safe to be a non muslim in the United States. Don't believe it? Ask the woman in OK that got her head cut off by a muslim, or ask the woman that got stabbed numerous times by the same muslim. Both women were only going about their business, trying to earn a living, doing no harm to no one. Yet one was murdered and the other came very close to losing her life, and will probably traumatized for the rest of her life. The muslim? Well he will soon be doing what he does best someplace else. His chances of being struck by two consecutive bolts of lighting are better than him receiving the death penalty. His chances of him being struck by 25 consecutive bolts of lighting are six times better than him being executed before he dies of natural causes.

Do the majority of claimants define the beliefs for the whole group, or do the beliefs define which claimants are actually in the group? There was a thread last month which claimed that the fanatical ones are more like Catholics (i.e. are faithful to the traditions of the historic group), and which went on to compare the non-fanatical ones to Protestants (by insisting that the written rules define who is in the group).
