There is a 100% chance that it won’t help if it isn’t done isn’t there?

Certainly seems reasonable to use as a tool to manage down risk to me.

Of course I’m not brilliant enough to say since I don’t work for the gooberment. Idiots.

I never thought I’d find myself agreeing with Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal.

What an ugly sentiment!

Duh?

The ONLY reason Ebola is now permanently loose in America is because the Obama regime allowed it to happen. You can't blame this on Bush and the Republicans.

The CDC is playing immigration politics. There is no way they’d say what they really think if what they really think might get them fired or result in a funding cut...or an IRS audit. The problem is not with our medical community. It’s with President Obama and his thugs.

The annoying thing here is, if there is a pandemic, none of our elected leaders will suffer so much as a sniffle. It will be the bitter clingers in flyover country who suffer and die.

could states governors declare bans of passengers from these countries, must ban passengers from those countries no matter where they fly from in europe or asia?

Time for states to become proactive?

The number of cases is now over 20,000, and the CDC estimates that by January, Liberia and Sierra Leone will have 1.4 million people with Ebola infections

If that was the number they told you...wouldn't you do everything you could to get out of Dodge?

How To Stop Ebola: Ban Air Travel From Liberia, Sierra Leone, And Guinea

Banning the few direct flights from the U.S. to that area isn't going to stop it. The only way that's going to work is if the whole world bans travel with those countries. The Dallas Ebola patient arrived from Liberia to the U.S. via Belgium.

Unfortunately, we ain’t seen nuttin yet. Just wait until flu season hits to see what a completely paralyzed nation that battens down the barricades REALLY looks like as millions have symptoms that are much like how Ebola starts off! The trenches of our medical system are woefully unprepared for something like this. And thank you, President Obola for your “fundamental transformation” when flu season hits! Oh, and PLEASE let’s keep those West African shuttles flying back and forth, since obviously it would do no good anyway with your open borders policy. Oh, and everyone? Be sure to vote a straight Democrat ticket in November: they really DO care about you folks, ya’ll hear? After all:

“Now, I am not on the ballot this fall,” Obama stressed. “... But make no mistake: My policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.” (Including unrestricted West African air flights.)

The risk management makes sense, but I wonder if anyone is alert to the fact that many experts say we aren’t dealing with Ebola?

There is no reason not to ban flights from these areas AND prohibit admission to the US by anyone, including US citizens who have been in the Ebola stricken areas. US citizens may be admitted after a period of quarantine.

Well duh, but pundits keep writing stupid editorials that only conservative read whereas, 0bola’s agenda does not align with doing the right thing, in fact, it aligns with EVIL.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

There are workarounds for that, just stop issuing visas.

Lock down those countries like our ‘authorities’ lock down our schools here in similar manner to US prisons. If it is good enough for us, why not them?
