Thomas A. Duncan, who became ill with Ebola after arriving from West Africa in Dallas two weeks ago, succumbed to the virus today (Sunday), reports Reuters. Duncan was fighting for his life at a Dallas hospital on today after his condition worsened to critical, according to the director of the US Centers for Disease Control.
The Dallas hospital that admitted him did not recognize the deadly disease at first and sent him home, only for him to return two days later by ambulance.

You’re quite welcome.
He got better?
Actually, 21 days is only the 99th percentile, not the max. The median onset is at 5.5 days.
Here's a chart from a CDC report, showing the distribution of incubation times across 5,000 patients:
It's interesting that the long tail on the right extends all the way to 25 days. From the link:
The figure above shows the distribution of Ebola virus incubation period, by days of incubation. Data from two sources were used to construct a lognormal probability distribution of being in the incubation state. The mean incubation period derived from this calculation is 6.3 days (standard deviation: 3.31 days), with a median of 5.5 days and a 99th percentile at 21 days.
Yeah, I have posted that graph and noted that we are in the home stretch for Dallas since last contact with Duncan was last Sunday. The people who came into contact can start to breath more easily with each passing day.
Do you know anything about how American slaves, given their own country, Liberia, after the Civil War, named themselves?
Did they carry the names of their American plantation, make up new ones, revert to old ones from African-English names, go back to ancient ancestral names? I see so many English, intelligible, South-African names.. how do they trace their ancestry?
With the Reston, VA, Ebola outbreak among primates in 1989, six of the human researchers seroconverted, but none became ill. Granted, that strain of Ebola had an Asian origin.
Exactly a month ago today, the World Health Organization reported that Ebola has a 53% fatality rate, although that may be understated.
The fatality rate of the last Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone was only 39% (see both of the same sources).
But I'd still be willing to bet there's a whole buncha Washingtons.
The panhandler rode in the ambulance after the Liberian did. Of course the ambulance was not “cleaned” after the man with the disease that liquefies internal organs was in it. Why would anyone clean up after that? It’s not contagious after all, the CDC drone said so.
Jacksons and Jeffersons. Duncan.... isn’t that Scottish, that took up in London?
Yes, I was wondering too, how O’Bola is enjoying his day of golf today. Does he know he will be the most despised man in the history of our country? No, he’s so narcissistic he thinks most people love him. After thousands die because he will not cut off air travel from Africa, he will be the most hated man in America.
I can’t but remember freepers not voting for Romney or not voting or voting third party......someone told me also that in her conservative Christian church she was shocked how many people didn’t vote for Romney because he was a Mormon....
It appear many conservatives refuse to vote unless someone is 100% their candidate...fiscal social etc. Whereas more democrats vote straight “D”. Unfortunately, this attitude has contributed to the death of our Country.
I read in a recent article today, that the idiots in Liberia are transporting the dead in public taxis. They are using taxis to take the dead back to their hometowns for burial. This is how they do things in the countries that O’Bola admires and loves so much.
Oh please, Romney wasn't even 40%, I held my nose and voted for the turd, but I won't begrudge anyone who didn't.
Just anecdotes. There’s no evidence significant numbers of conservatives ‘stayed home’ rather than vote for Romney.
RINOs are so disturbed by the anecdotes because those with actual principles are probably activists and opinion leaders.
I was wondering that too. Who in their right mind, would work on a plane that goes to these hell hole countries? For that matter, I consider all planes and airports to be laboratories that are growing this plague day by day.
Thanks, I read it when it was a popular paperback, but I’ll send this out to my friends, and download it myself for reference. Here is another great book-

Are political folks still wanting to prosecute and/or lynch him? Let ‘em do it with their own bare hands.
I held my nose to vote for Romney too, but I am quite disgusted with those who didn’t and helped Obama win a second term by not voting. Kind of like committing suicide to cure a cold.. Lots of difference between Mormon and Muslim...Even RINO’s don’t generally think of the citizens as infidels....
Agree.
No matter what is said about the health care here in the US,it cannot be beat.
A co-worker told me years ago, about an uncle in Asia, that needed to have some cardiac work done.
He needed to come up with $50,000,which he didn’t have ,but he could get enough money for a plane ticket to Houston, where they have a world class cardiac center. Being without funds, he knew he would receive his care for free.
