Could Illegal Unaccompanied Minors Be Spreading New Mystery Virus to U.S.?

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a health advisory on September 26 stating that “nine pediatric patients were hospitalized with an acute neurologic illness of undetermined etiology.”

The CDC is investigating the nine cases of acute neurological illness and paralysis in Colorado children to see if enterovirus 68 (EV-D68) is the virus responsible for their symptoms. CDC Enterovirus Investigation

These illnesses, having occurred since August 1, 2014, are “characterized by focal limb weakness” and abnormalities of the spinal cord “consisting of non-enhancing lesions largely restricted to the gray matter” on MRI, says the CDC.

To date, none of the children affected have experienced seizures or altered mental status, and none have had any “cortical, subcortical, basal ganglia, or thalamic lesions on MRI.”

Curiously though, most of the children reported a respiratory illness in the two weeks leading up to the development of neurologic symptoms.

Could these children have been infected by the same respiratory illness brought over by the masses of illegal immigrant children from Latin America?

"Only an idiot would even think to ask that question."

Uhm, see post#24.

Apparently at least one poster believes whatever the government through the CDC tells him/her.

“In Colorado, CDC and local health officials are investigating whether limb weakness and paralysis reported in nine children was associated with the enterovirus 68.”

If the Republicans were a political party and not a country club, they'd have this picture and mother talking about how her child was infected by unaccompanied illegal alien children invited here by President Obama and the Democrat Party.

I think victims here should sue Obama, Holder, Gutierrez, La Raza and every other ethnic thug group out there.

Officials: Enterovirus D68 claims first child
Posted 11:02 am, October 5, 2014, by Bailey Woolum KFOR-TV and CNN Wire
Enterovirus - CDC

CNN – Eli — a sweet, active, blonde-haired preschooler — had gone to sleep feeling fine, perhaps dreaming of playing with his sisters or having a fun day at school.

He didn’t make it through the night.

While the young boy died sometime between the night of Wednesday, September 24, and the following morning, it wasn’t until Friday night that authorities figured out why: enterovirus D68, a particularly pernicious strain of an otherwise common virus that has been particularly widespread this year.

While it’s been detected in at least four people who died, Eli’s case is the first in which authorities have definitively cited enterovirus D68 as the cause of death.

Jeff Plunkett, the health officer in Eli’s hometown of Hamilton Township, New Jersey, explained Saturday that, while the boy was born premature, “he had no other existing condition” and his parents no reason to believe he was direly ill before the virus took his life. Eli was 4.

“He was asymptomatic and fine, and the next morning he had passed,” Plunkett told reporters. “So the onset was very rapid, very sudden. And that’s clearly the big difference (between enterovirus D68 and other enterovirus strains).”

Authorities are testing one other child who attended preschool at Eli’s school, Yardville Elementary, albeit in a different class, for enterovirus D68. That boy has been treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and is now recovering at home, according to Plunkett.

Disease the Illegal Aliens Brought

Thursday, October 2, 2014 18:15

(Before It’s News)

By Douglas V. Gibbs

When the Murrieta Immigration Protests in July were in full swing, and we were getting the attention of the media, I had two main talking points to throw out there before the reporters began asking me questions. First, my wife was born in Mexico, and her parents came to the United States legally when she was a child. Second, a part of the reason I got involved with the demonstrations in Murrieta was because my granddaughter, age three, had been diagnosed with hand, foot, and mouth disease, and the doctor made the comment that he was confused about why the formerly nonexistent disease in the Southern California city had suddenly appeared, and the number of cases was spiking.

“Immediately,” I told reporters, “I put two and two together and knew why our kids were getting sick.”

Aside from the new case of Ebola in Texas, disease is spreading through our country, and nobody is reporting where it is coming from. The news media keep calling it a “mysterious virus,” or a virus with an “unclear origin.” The presence of the enterovirus is not a mystery, but the reason it has suddenly sprung up, and is more dangerous than we’ve ever seen before, is.

It is being called Enterovirus 68, and after launching itself through school age children in Missouri, the illness has rapidly spread through the middle United States, and into the northeast where a child in Rhode Island has died from the disease. 42 States have now reported the presence of the disease.

The “mystery virus” causes a serious respiratory illness, and is believed to have played a role in a total of four deaths around the country. In the case of the Rhode Island death, the virus, combined with a bacterial infection, was more than the child’s body could handle.

First identified in the United States in 1962, the enterovirus has created havoc before, partly because its rarity leaves Americans with few natural immune system defenses to fight it off. In the past, the infection would act much like the common cold, but now the illness is much more severe, leading some children to need to be hooked up to oxygen, and even a breathing machine. In the Denver area, the virus is believed to possibly also be linked to muscle weakness, and paralysis.

The vast majority of children with the illness experience mild symptoms, and recover easily.

So why has the enterovirus emerged, and why is it that it did so in our schools? Is this just the unfortunate consequence of natural cycles, and it was time for the virus to make an appearance anyway? Or, was the disease brought into the United States from a place where the health care system is not as advanced as the American system by people who were not properly screened before entering the country?

In a conversation with a doctor I was seeing for therapy on my back recently, a man who immigrated to the United States legally and was encouraged by my participation in the Murrieta protests to stand against illegal immigration, he told me that the world is full of disease. Tuberculosis is present throughout the world, but in America it is all but gone. However, with the illegal aliens crossing the border comes disease. Tuberculosis. Hand, foot and mouth. Scabies. And the list goes on and on.

Is the appearance of these diseases at the same time the number of illegal aliens, particularly children from many points south of the border, coming across the border has increased drastically just a coincidence?

I don’t believe in coincidences.

Eli Waller, the New Jersey 4-year-old who died of enterovirus, showed no symptoms of the disease. The boy had been kept out of pre-school the day before he died for a slight case of pink eye.

Eli was the first child directly linked to D68, the severe respiratory virus that has infected more than 500 people, mostly children, in 43 states and the District of Columbia. A 10-year-old Rhode Island girl died in late September from a rare combination of enterovirus D68 and a staph infection.

According to Hamilton Township, New Jersey health officer Jeff Plunkett Eli, who attended Yardville Elementary School, did not show any symptoms before his death. The Mercer County medical examiner determined that Eli’s pink eye was unrelated.

Obama Is Complicit In The Murder of Five Children – Illegal South American Immigrants Introduce Deadly Virus To U.S. Children…

Posted on October 5, 2014 by sundance
Don’t think this is related to Obama’s Illegal Immigrants ? Fortunately 4 months ago we began to assemble the locations of the UAC’s. Overlay the maps and you’ll find the connection. Kansas City Missouri and Chicago Illinois were the first outbreaks identified !
