Liberia to Prosecute Man Who Brought Ebola to US

Liberian authorities say they plan to prosecute the man infected with Ebola who brought the disease to the United States, saying he lied on his airport health questionnaire.

With an Ebola crisis raging in West Africa, passengers leaving Liberia are being screened for fever and are asked if they have had contact with anyone infected.

On the questionnaire obtained by The Associated Press, Thomas Eric Duncan answered 'no' to those questions.

Neighbors say Duncan had helped a sick pregnant woman who later died of the disease. Her illness at the time was believed to be pregnancy-related.

Binyah Kesselly, chairman of the board of directors of the Liberia Airport Authority, told reporters Thursday that Duncan will be prosecuted when he returns to Liberia.

From other reports...she was not admitted to the hospital because the Ebola ward was full. She died that same night after bringing her back home. Not sure of the timing but at least 1 of the others that helped carry her to the hospital died as well. I’m almost certain he died before this man came to the states. He had to know he had been exposed.

What Liberia is documenting is that this man knowingly and willfully lied and violated laws to travel to the United States when he was fully aware that he was infected with the Ebola virus.

He no doubt did so in order take advantage of American medical capabilities with the sure knowledge that he would not have to pay for it.

His plan worked perfectly. He’s her, he’s in an American hospital’s intensive care ward receiving state of the art care at the expense of the American taxpayer.

In the process, he may have spread the disease to any number of American citizens or fellow passengers on the aircraft he flew on.

The man deserves to be in jail.

DISD will prosecute those parents no matter what. With the 90% rule that we have in place, there are only a handful of recognized absences that are automatically exempted from the 90% attendance law. (Funeral of immediate family member, religious holiday, court appearance, etc.)

There are no more excused absences. It’s up to the school principal, then the school district, and then a judge to decide whether or not a student’s unrecognized absences should be exempted.

Even an absence with a doctor’s note indicating that a student has a communicable disease/virus like influenza is not automatically exempt under Texas law. When we had the H1N1 scare in DFW in 2009, each school district had to specifically exempt the Swine Flu. Ridiculous, no?

The penalty? $500 a day for each unexcused absence (i.e. not recognized or specifically excused by officials) over 9 days per six months and possible jail time.

The woman died about three hours later, after the hospital had said she was suffering from Ebola and they didn’t have room for her. He knew perfectly well that he had been heavily exposed, and in fact, I think he probably had had exposure before that (she was a neighbor and possibly even a relative whom he had helped get to the hospital).

The reason I say that he may have had exposure before that is that he became very obviously ill only a few days after getting here. So the disease either has a much shorter incubation period than we are being told, or he’s lying about something. And even if he had a fever when he left, that’s easy to game: they do it with a remote laser device, so I imagine if he took a few aspirin, the fever would be down and he could get onto the plane.

In any case, he should be prosecuted here, too.

Also, if he came here for Zmapp, he’s out of luck. I read that there aren’t even any more supplies of it.

Humans will do what they will do. That's where smart prevention comes in. Flights to and from the Hot Zone should be halted. Oh well, idiots in DC include the likes of Chris Wallace claim otherwise.

You (obviously) know, and I don’t.

However, the chances of that penalty being enforced against illegal immigrant families is probably zero. Should panic take hold and become widespread among communities of illegals and large numbers of them keep their kids at home, this will become a phenomenon and the ACLU and La Raza will jump in.

I just don’t believe we have laws any more. We have suggestions.

Which guarantees he will be given refugee status in the US by the idiots in charge of our government at present.

That should guarantee instant US citizenship. Congratulations and welcome to America!

That's exactly what it means. The Obungler will make sure, that if he survives, he will never be held accountable. In Obamaworld, only conservatives are targeted. Libtards are never going to be held accountable.

I certainly agree with that. It is common sense. I agree also that the people in DC are idiots. And I will add that they are enemies of the Nation and its citizens.

He was exposed on the 15th by the pregnant woman who died at the house he lived in. He traveled on the 19th, so he definitely knew had had been exposed to ebola when he signed the affidavit.

The pregnant woman’s brother may have also died of ebola prior to the 19th.

And there were 3 other people who had died at or near the house he lived in Liberia.

So there is no doubt he knew he had been exposed when he signed the certificate.

What do we know about the Europeans? Are they allowing people from the ebola countries to transit thru their airports as this guy did thru the Brussels airport?

Well lets face it Duncan got exposed to Ebola and likely decided to hot foot it to the US so he would get the best care when he came down with Ebola. I’m sure his extended family is thanking him for infecting all of them.

So the disease either has a much shorter incubation period than we are being told,

CDC says it can be as short as 2 days. The 21 days is the maximum time. Same info from the WHO.

I haven’t followed all this real closely, but I feel like this guy is up to something in addition to having the ebola. Not sure what.

I wonder what his religious persuasion is?

Duncan is, theoretically, a Christian. His family members seem to be part of some Pentecostal church somewhere, from what I can determine. I could be wrong about that, but he’s definitely not a Muslim.
