Some Kennesaw State University students have committed to wearing head scarves for 24 hours in a show of support for Muslim women who wear a hijab, or head covering.
Caitlin Syfrett, a senior at KSU majoring in anthropology, said she wants to see if she gets any questioning looks or mean-spirited glances from people while she wears a head scarf, even though shes not Muslim.
Im wearing it as a sign of solidarity because there are women who do this every day, and theyre judged, Syfrett said Tuesday, when the 24-hour period began. I want to see how prevalent the misconceptions are.
Syfrett said she hopes to talk to others about the prejudice she sees Muslim women endure in the United States and other countries for exhibiting their religion. She said she wants to break stereotypes.
Tuesdays event, The Many Faces of the Hijab, is part of KSUs yearlong study of the Arabian Peninsula.

Interesting choice of a name to associate with Islam, “The Many Faces Of ...”
I associate that with death, those morbid videos of people getting killed that have been around for years.
So, Hijab = Death.

Im wearing it as a sign of solidarity because there are women who do this every day, and theyre judged, She needs to have a Moslem man give her a couple of whacks with a hose too, just to make sure she's not judged too leniently.

More morons who are “down with the struggle”

I'm Catholic and women are no longer wearing the mantilla at least the churches I have been to. Which is a shame as they were pretty and were a symbol of our faith. But the big difference is no one would kill you for not wearing one. I do know ladies that still wear a hat or scarf to Mass.
I actually have no problem with it as long as it's voluntary.
But this college educated twit is an idiot.

Caitlin needs to go all the way and move to a country that is ruled by sharia law. Embrace the caliphate.
To: Biggirl
Yep. I know.
But the typ-lib assumes one is cultural sexism and the other is just an oppressed minority.
Yes, I know the difference... That idiot at KSU would get all hot and bothered about some Amish or Mennonites or Catholics ...
...but she would ride to the defense of her Muslim fellow travelers.

Oh, I agree.
I bet she hates Christian head coverings, but I bet she drools and slobbers all over the Muslims......
