Secret Service Director Julia Pierson will face questions about how an armed intruder jumped the White House fence and made it as far as the East Room when she testifies before a House committee on Tuesday.
Sources confirmed to Fox News on Monday that 42-year-old Omar Gonzalez overpowered a Secret Service officer in the Sept. 19 incident -- this led to a struggle and "wrestling" inside the executive mansion as he darted through. Gonzalez was eventually tackled by a counter-assault agent in the East Room after he reached the doorway to the Green Room, a parlor overlooking the South Lawn.
The revelation that the intruder made it much farther than originally known came on the eve of a scheduled House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing that will address the breach, as well as lawmakers' "concerns" about the Secret Service's security protocols.
A series of what one source called "catastrophic" security failures apparently allowed the intruder to get deep into the White House.
The Secret Service did not follow basic protocols during the incident to protect the White House, the president and the first family and the agency still does not know why, a source intimately familiar with details of the investigation told Fox News.
For example, the Secret Service didn't lock down certain areas of the property and did not elevate the threat level at the White House so that other uniformed officers and agents would know what was happening, which is a standard response.
“This was a catastrophic failure when the President was not there. What if the president was there?” the source, a longtime Secret Service insider, added. "It turns out that basic functions in place to avoid this were never initiated."

It’d be so nice to find something nice to say, but, let’s face it, this woman took a bad fall out of the Ugly Tree and hit her face on every, single branch on the way down.
And if she’s fired, she certainly won’t be teaching at the college level or performing brain surgery.
In short, she’s just the sort of person we now expect to find on the Obama A-team.

I don’t care who the occupant is.
WE (as taxpayers) don’t pay for this kind of laxness.
There is so much ‘wrong’ with this it is pathetic.
That it got ‘leaked’ tells more than the story means though.
There must be some real ‘weeweed off’ (rightfully so) people to run(leak) with this article.
But like they say if you want 3 people to keep a secret, you better kill 2 of them. Or transfer them to ‘Peoria’ THEN the real story will get leaked.

Yes the 800 rounds is an ‘interesting’ aside BUT ‘they’ find it necessary to mention it in the ‘lead’ almost like everytime we hear ‘St Michael’ mentioned it has the trailer of ‘the unarmed Black teenager shot by a White Cop’.

A female Secret Service agent on the president’s detail is so out of shape that she literally cannot open the heavy doors to exit the president’s limousine. Instead of removing her from protecting the president and requiring her to pass the physical fitness tests that all agents are supposed to take every three months, Secret Service management told drivers to try to park the Beast so it would be easier for the vehicle door to swing open for her.

The MSM was pushing stories of how the “racist right wing extremist” being led by Glenn Beck wanted to see the President assassinated.
The MSM then began with stories of the SS being chock a block full of racist that would love to see Obama assassinated.
Howard Dean let it slip that the republicans were doing what they had done with Bill Clinton, they wanted to kill the president.
Before the OKC bombing in 1995, the dems started the exact same talking points campaign that the “right wing extremist” being led by Rush Limbaugh wanted to kill the President.
Clinton took a trip to the Philippines where Terry Nicholes had been and low and behold there was an assassination plot against Clinton.
In 2009, Hillary took an unannounced trip overseas and low and behold there was an assassination plot against Hillary.
In 1995 we had the OKC bombing which was “right wing extremist”.
In 2010 we had a fertilizer car bomb attempt in NYC which they tried to blame on the TEA Party/right wing extremist.
This has all the appearances of a repeat of 1994/95 and 2009/10.
Orchestrate an assassination plot then follow with a terrorist attack and blame it on the “racist right wing extremist”.
I remember watching an “OK” movie where that happened. Used garbage trucks. Olympus Has Fallen I believe.
