Ft. Rucker - the best place I ever lived.
|
Thank you Lauren for this evenings road trip.
Hope your workload is diminishined & time with the grandchildren increased! *Hugs*
I served with some great pilots from Rucker in Vietnam. One great warrant officer saved us from a nasty crash. I live today because of his great training at Rucker, so I'm kinda loving on the Rucker pilots :-)
And 35 minutes east in Dothan you can get the best steak you will ever want...

The FR Canteen is Free Republic's longest running daily thread
specifically designed to provide entertainment and moral support for the military.
The doors have been open since Oct 7 2001,
the day of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
We are indebted to you for your sacrifices for our Freedom.
I remember my Aunt mentioning that her Son got a job there, the one in Alabama.
In her words “He got on at Camp Rooker”.
I agree.
I lived there from Feb of '70 to Feb of '73, then again from March of '74 until Oct of '76.
Great place to raise a family.
I have returned many times to visit, most recently to attend a grad ceremony of the grandson of a good friend.
He finished RW training in June.
Hi Everybody!
((((HUGS))))
Believe it or not there is a trailer park in Daleville, AL which has an interesting history.
Dan Quayle, George Bush Jr., and Al Gore have all lived there.
There is a shotgun house near Ozark, AL in which two U.S. Congressmen have lived.
Good Post
Evenin’, Lauren! Good to see you in Alabama tonight! :)
Looking forward to seeing you for real in about 2 weeks. WOOHOO!!
