MSNBC Mocks Democrats' Hypocritical And Ineffective Koch Brothers Strategy
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s obsession with the Koch brothers, which evolved into a midterm strategy for Democrats, is spurring mockery of the candidates Reid needs to keep his iron grip on the Senate.
In last night’s Iowa Senate debate, Rep. Bruce Braley used the familiar Democratic attack alleging Republican candidate Joni Ernst will “owe the Koch brothers everything” after election day.
Morning Joe‘s Joe Scarborough wasn’t buying it. The MSNBC host ridiculed the Iowa congressman’s attack.
“This Koch brothers thing, it’s ridiculous,” Scarborough said. “Especially when they’re getting tons and tons of money on their side.”
Scarborough was alluding to a recent revelation that while Democrats frequently decry big money in politics, they in fact are the main recipients of big donor money.
“It doesn’t even work in Manhattan, where people thank God for David Koch,” Scarborough said. David Koch has donated nearly $300 million to New York City medical and cultural institutions.
“If you go to the hospital for special surgery because you’re mortally injured you will be thanking David Koch,” co-host Mika Brzezinski said.
Morning Joe co-host Willie Geist, equally perplexed, said Reid’s obsession with the Koch brothers has become a national strategy for Democrats but has been ineffective in moving the needle in midterm battleground states.
“When Harry Reid goes on the floor of the Senate every day and talks about the Koch brothers and it becomes a national strategy,” Geist said. “Does that work on the ground level of state races? I don’t know.”
lol...I was hoping they would stick to this throughout the election. The response of the normal person was like “What the heck are they talking about and who cares?”
True, but to be fair to the fascists, lying has always worked before so why stop now?
I’m quite sure that Reid has a medical condition which is also a true mental condition.
Many Iowans probably think Bruce is talking about his coke dealer.
the Koch brothers are more left than most liberals on social policies, and yet the left fights these liberaltarians for some reason.
It’s called liberalism :)
The Dems have successfully hammered the “rich Republicans” mantra for years and the weenie Republicans don’t fight back failing to note all the rich Democrats: Soros, Kennedys, Hollywood, Rockefellers, Gates, Pelosi, Reid, etc., etc., etc.
The average voter probably thinks the Koch brothers own the Coca Cola company, and they like Coke.
How many hospitals and cancer research centers has Soros built/supported? There are many first class medical centers, museums etc. that we would not have without the hated 1%s that the left loves to pretend like they hate. Especially the Obamas. Cancer research helps people of all financial conditions.
It is such a stupid strategy. They really don’t have anything worthy to run on so they create some bizarre BS to mislead their ignorant masses.
George Soros is a billionaire that doesn’t even pay his taxes in the USA. He gives millions and millions to the extremist left. At least the Koch brothers have paid taxes here.
This clown running against Joni just repeats the democratic talking points over and over. He has not real message.
Democrats have no message other than to divide us.
They need objects of ridicule without any thinking.
doesn’t anyone remember George Soros and his zillions to Democrats????
Hairy Reed is a drooling psychopath.
Well, not the GOP Establishment, that’s for sure.
It is sort of amusing. Terry Lynn Land has done nothing that they can attack her for so they go after a contributor.
The left whines about the Koch Brothers to try and divert attention away from Bloomberg and Soros.
Blind hogs and acorns.
