No, FR is not trying to quash satire. However, it should be clearly labeled as such in the title. Some people seem to think it's great trickling our readers into falling for satire. It's not. A lot of people come to FR and scan the headlines clicking on articles of interest. If they're not familiar with the author or source, they may be misled and may even pass it on to others. No thanks.
If you post satire, please label it as "satire' in the title.
Thanks
>>We are handling it differently. Labeling satire in the title is now policy.<<
Very straightforward. Even hg should be not totally completely displeased :)
I agree with you.
John has gotten me more than once which is what makes him so good.
Besides, I usually pay attention to the name of the author. Don’t we all?
Then again ... !!!!
Try to grasp..
Even try searching or maybe being sentient..
I’m not one of those who objects to this particular self promoter.
Do I fawn over him? Hell no.
Neither should you.
Where you come up with this crap about wanting him gone.. you need to check your own backside.
Because that’s where you pulled that mess out of.
I like good satire. It allows a person to present a plot based on absurdity, that more clearly defines an issue that mere objection/support for the main topic would by itself.
Sometimes folks are unable to view the main topic objectively. When a story is used, it can provide an ah-ha moment even for the die hard believer or critic.
Once they see the concept provided in a different format, they can often see the whole thing a lot more clearly.
Labeled satire up front, I think satire is still effective.
Yes, your mom was hot in 1981.
Amen!
Gunner: He thinks he's "all that" and posts only his own stuff. He's not about communicating anything but his own material.
Gunner, what the hell do you care?
Thanks you
The reason that wouldn't surprise anyone is that it already happened once before.
Clinton White House Budget Director Franklin Raines became the Chairman of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), and earned over $90 million from 1998 to 2003. He was accused of fancy book-keeping to enhance his pay.

>>es, your mom was hot in 1981.<<
My mom died in 1999. I still feel the pain of her loss.
How is your version of “satire” working for you?
Why the hell do you NOT care?
Some self-admiring wanker using FR to promote himself and you don't care?
Laz and Gunner neither took nor posted that picture.
You must have done some digging there, PJ. It’s an old pic.
I for one appreciate the satire. It certainly has taught me to be more critical and look over articles closely.
well, this sure takes the fun out of it. I rather enjoy those that get me all bent just long enough to start reading and realize I’ve been had. I’m not sure how anyone could not have figured out that JP Morgan article if they read even part of it (not to mention the like 5 satire tags). I mean really... 77 million a year to be a “compliance officer” for his arch nemesis? Eric - Holder— and compliance . aw never mind...
Go on, John. Take a chill pill!! It's just humblegunner! For abusive comments -- well, I've seen far, far worse on weightier topics (try a discussion on small-l libertarianism or Romney), none from gunner that I recall.
People gotta be able to be kids sometimes, and FR is the right playground. I like it that way. "Grown-ups" can go somewhere else.
Humble, I appreciate you calling out blog pimps for using FFR to bump their hit counts by posting links to their stuff here .. but Semmens posts his articles in their entirety ... is that a problem for you as well?
Why do you care?
So you can post smack but others are prohibited?
Fine.
My little sister turning cartwheels on the beach was killed by bloggers in 1993.
APOLOGIZE NOW.
If you have to explain up front that it’s satire...then it’s not good satire.
I do, too (have his writing talent).
I’m sure a lot of the folks that get their panties in a wad are the ones that are posting by using the “In Forum” function or whatever it is. You know...the one that only shows current comments.
Maybe they should read the article and see the source. It’s usually a good idea. Most of the MSM news is pure crapola...so what is the difference. At least he posts Semi News/Semi Satire...if you go to the source.
