I know it is relative to a region, but wages have not kept up with house prices when all the Kalifornians and Yanquis move here after selling their houses for a cool half mill to a million they bought for $150K some years ago. Prices are outpacing salary adjustments by a wide margin.

A niece in Madison WI posted the photo today of a moving van in front of their house, loading them out for a move to NE TX. They had previously lived in the San Antonio area when her husband was in the USAF and he took his first civilian job in WI. Now it appears they are a small part of a larger statistic that sees them returning to TX. Both are University of Oklahoma grads with family in that area that are looking forward to them being closer with the grandkids.

I have trouble believing that Austin is growing faster than Houston. We have to drive around Houston ever few weeks to see what building or vacant property is gone and what is being built there. It is astounding what is happening here.
