White House fence-jumper made it far deeper into building than previously known

The man who jumped the White House fence this month and sprinted through the front door made it much farther into the building than previously known, overpowering one Secret Service officer and running through much of the main floor, according to three people familiar with the incident.

An alarm box near the front entrance of the White House designed to alert guards to an intruder had been muted at what officers believed was a request of the usher’s office, said a Secret Service official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Sounds like he had pretty well unobstructed access to much of the first floor, until security awoke to the situation.

Secret Service Director Julia Pierson has said the breach was “unacceptable” to her,

And yet, she still has her job. She should have been canned immediately.

Per reports the day of the incident, the Obamas has just left the WH a few (about 8) minutes earlier.

I think the same thing, but then, I have become nothing but cynical over the last 6 years.

Barry and Co left for Camp David just a few minutes prior to the intruder, and just a few hours after that blow-up when he told military leaders to not paint all of izlam with the same brush.

Barry hates Camp David and has not been there very often. He skipped out on a golf date at some fancy club.

Convenient. And the guy was supposedly rushing in to tell Henny Penny that the sky was falling, or something? And had 800 rounds in the car but only brought a pen knife...

This is an extremely serious breach of securiy.

Security in a place like the White House is not one-dimensional—it is layered.
