Admitting my kitchen wouldnt pass an inspection...
My wife is the chief inspector and I fail each time she runs an inspection of the kitchen. But she never fails to show at mealtime.
But as you say “it’s my germs”, not some undocumented alien from a third world shithole with contagious untreatable diseases contaminating my food. If heat won’t kill it and bleach won’t disinfect it, I’m in trouble.
Adding water to refresh the beans and cheese is true at sports concessions. If you’ve had nachos that are too spicy, it’s because they added more jalapeno juice. If the nachos are too watery then they added too much water. The nacho cheese gets browner as the day progesses.
That is a sign I like to see.
I solved the Christmas shopping thing, we have 7 grands and 5 great grands, they all get gift cards, and I get gas points. Plus 1% back on Discover. I can do my Christmas shopping in under 10 minutes. Even hubby’s gift can be Amazon Prime ordered. Last year he got a cut off saw he’d been wanting and Amazon had it cheaper than any place.
Found out they carry my hearing aid batteries for about $14 a box for 60, comes out around .28 cents each. I get a week out of a pair. And since we will be buying for the 2 of us once the VA gets off their butts and he gets his hearing aides, he’s lost most high Freq sounds from jet engines, back in the 60-80’s.
Exactly. When I went to high school in the San Diego area, a lot of college age acquaintances worked as room service waiters at a particular 5 star resort/spa that catered to celebrities, politicians and the very affluent. The things I heard regarding food preparation were shocking. Many an "A" list celebrity, Senator, and on one occasion a sitting President, would be appalled to know that spit wasn't the only disgusting bodily fluid that found its way into their food.
A few times a year immigration agents would come through demanding to see green cards. Many of the illegal wait staff would be given free bus rides across the border, only to reappear a few weeks later and be given back their jobs. But, the stories I heard of food tampering didn't come from the illegals, rather it was from entitled middle class kids who resented the fame and wealth of the customers they served.
Eating in any restaurant is a crap shoot. You pays your money and you takes your chances.
And try the McDonald's Caramel Frappe. You won't be sorry.
Last time went to Schlotsky’s. I could have gone home and cooked it faster...And I live out in the country too.
I wear loose Tees or a vest, no one would know. Just easier to boycott them to me.
The mall has up no guns signs, I carry any way. Very dangerous high crime place.
Aww fer cryin’ out loud...really?
I use leftover meat for just about anything...always knew the chili from Wendy’s was made that way and it’s not really bad...just a bit on the “weak” side.
And Minnie clutch yer pearls because I also used water to rehydrate stuff that got a little dessicated while in the pan...oh my...
Wasting food is one those things that will get my hackles up in heartbeat...I have a really hard time with it...so I suspect that finding ways to re-purpose items is high on the frugal family’s list.
This “article” smacks of a hit piece on the FF industry...to get people pissed off and to recount their “stories” and to support the socialists push to raise the minimum wage, IMO.
If you’ve ever had Scouts cooking your food, then you have probably witnessed just about everyone of these “horror” STORIES [hey, it’s your lie, you can tell it how you want] and possibly more and I’ll just about guarantee that you ate what they prepared...
The Starbucks secret menu is way too large to include here, especially because many of the items are ordinary, like the “small” sized coffee, called a “short drink”, and French pressed coffee (which I like).
Other stuff they have that is quite ordinary:
Short Cappuccino (Italian style. Less milk and a stronger flavor)
Cafe au Lait (Misto without foam)
Widow Maker (Half iced black tea, half iced black coffee)
London Fog (Earl Grey tea w/vanilla flavoring)
Red Eye (Coffee plus 1 shot of espresso)
Black Eye (Coffee plus 2 shots of espresso)
Green Eye (Coffee plus 3 shots of espresso)
Plus, they have a ton of options for a Frappuchino, if you like that sort of thing.
Personally, I wish they would offer at least one kind of Turkish-Austrian coffee. Though they would have to have demitasse cups. You can make it at home, though it helps to like the taste of cardamom herb.
The case study to which I referred didn't present the hamburger patty/chili as a negative. Instead, it showed how a 'fast-foot' restaurant chain could stake out a niche of serving freshly cooked hamburgers based on a system of estimation, and how the restaurant chain took what would have been loss from that system of estimation (excess patties from over-estimation) into a positive: chili, with a simplified recipe calculated from those estimated patties.
I don’t eat fast food, except on long road trips. For lunch at work, I just bring leftovers to microwave. At least I know exactly what’s in my food.
I’ll bet it’s the chili seasonings that did it.
I know I've eaten a lot of abnormal minerals, roughage, and six- or eight-legged protein over the years. It's what I don't know about that . . . I don't want to know about.
If any condiment has touched a patty, the patty is thrown away.
I love Wendy’s chili. Is that so wrong? :-(
