James Traficant, the colorful Ohio politician whose conviction for taking bribes and kickbacks made him only the second person to be expelled from Congress since the Civil War, died Saturday. He was 73.

His toupee lives on.
It's been well documented here and elsewhere that 9/11 was a KKKlintoon operation. No, lil' Billy didn't actually orchestrate the planes as such. But it was he and his administration that allowed the foundation for the muzzie attacks to occur on that fateful day. Yes, there's no denying the attacks did indeed occur during the dawn of the Bush/Cheney era but paint had barely dried on the walls of the Oval Office on September 11, 2001. That's why it's wrong to say that the terrorist attack happened on Bush's watch as the commies claim. The blame for 9/11 rests solely on KKlintoon and the DemonRATS.
I liked the guy, and I’m a Conservative! He was “colorful” and the Dems hated him. I believe he was set up. But then any pol that comes from the Mahoning Valley has got to have a lot of baggage!
Who do you think will get it - Rod Blagojevich or John Edwards?
That part of Northeast Ohio is known for its mob connections and corrupt politicians. But when it comes to outstanding Italian food, Youngstown and vicinity is one of the best areas in all of these 57 states.
Bill Clinton is on tape acknowledging that the government of the Sudan offered to hand over Osama bin Laden but he turned down the offer. Bush wasn’t inclined to try to pin the blame on Clinton for 9/11 and for sure the media won’t want anyone to remember Clinton’s negligence that made 9/11 possible...not on the way to Hillary’s coronation.

Mod Rod; given his hair’s getting pretty gray and they won’t let him dye it in prison so at least it will match.
But his hairpiece lives on....
He was a conservative populist Democrat, offbeat but very amiable and funny. I’m inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt against the IRS, although he was “convicted” in a kangaroo tax court. RIP, Mr. Traficant.
Bill Clinton, impeached ex-president, had no immediate comment.
I agree on all counts.

I liked Traficant. He was a character, and I like characters. And he was a conservative Democrat, a bird that doesn’t exist anymore.
Most entertaining thing ever to hit CSPAN.
Best speeches
Since he can’t say it, Same to you! He was an honest crook that worked his tail off for his local area he represented and he wasn’t afraid of anything. HE is the reason the mob wars stopped in Youngstown. Ever heard of a Youngstown Tune Up? He beat the IRS on numerous occasions and consistently sided with conservatives and he called a spade a spade and spook a spook. HE wasn’t afraid of a good fist fight or a fight using only words and i am sure he simply got screwed over because he wouldn’t follow the party trail. HE liked to piss people off and he paid for it. May he rest in peace.
I agree. If he had his way the IRS would have been fully reigned in and not able to target conservatives. I miss his 1 minute rants.

Mr. Speaker, there are opponents trying to kill President Bush’s tax cut. They say it is too big, it is not targeted. They say it is even retroactive. Now, if that is not enough to glorify a 1040, they say they are upset because all Americans would get a tax cut. Beam me up, Mr. Speaker. I support the pro-American, pro-worker, retroactive tax cut of President Bush. Let me say this, Congress: there are not two or three United States of America, there is just one; one people, under God. And one tax cut that qualifies for all of America strengthens our Republic.
I yield back the fact that we have a Tax Code that would give Hulk Hogan a hernia.
