The mysterious respiratory illness enterovirus has spread to more than half the United States with symptoms ranging from mild colds to serious breathing problems, health officials said.
Since mid-August, 175 people across 27 states have been diagnosed with the sickness caused by the enterovirus D68, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
The enterovirus, a more virulent strain of the virus that causes the common cold, can lead to fever, sneezing and coughing in mild cases.

you want some protection against this and other things this winter, learn to make this:
liposomal vitamin c.
you can make it on your own. it will work far better than any vitamin c you buy off the shelves.
Had something in May-June. Worst cold I have ever had. Even my gums bled. Doctor said it was just a cold. Coughing for two straight weeks.
Bring on more “unaccompanied” illegal alien invaders! We’re ready!
my ER has been flooded with cases of worse than typical viral URIs over the past couple of weeks. I caught it myself two weeks ago and am still carrying it around a little bit.
Thanks for the ping!
You’re Welcome, Alamo-Girl!
nope, first time i mentioned this. i talked about intravenous use of vitamin c but this is actually something you can make with two ingredients, water, and a certain type of small machine. just google “make liposomal vitamin c”.
My doctor was talking about this a couple weeks ago when I had my annual physical. He said he is seeing lots of people, mostly elderly, with this hacking virus. Said never hear anything about it on the news.
I’ve had cold symptoms since the first week of September. My son just started going to school for the first time and I figured I must be picking up multiple strains of cold, but maybe it’s this enterovirus that’s going around. Whatever it is, it hasn’t made me nearly as miserable as I normally am during a cold, it just won’t go away. Maybe it’s because I have asthma but getting a cold is normally brutal for me.
Someone infected with this needs to walk around the New York Times building, and MSNBC for good measure. Then stop by the Today Show and ALL the Sunday shows. Maybe then it will get coverage.
I know I’ve had a bad case of propaganditis for a long time. The stuff makes me sick.
I had the same thing. It has been years since I've been ill. I'm over 50 and have only missed a couple of days from work from an illness, but this spring I caught something that almost forced me to go to the doctor. I was hacking like I was on death row, a fever, sore joints, etc... . It took almost 5 days to shake it off. No idea what it was.
The past 2 years we use/have a product called ‘Myco Phyto’ by Advanced Bionutritionals. We order it by phone. Not cheap. But has ‘worked’ for a variety of family members in 2 states. College-bound grandson is sent off with a bottle.
What it does is boost the immune system.
Has staved off my on-coming colds.
It’s like gold to us.
