Education School tells Missouri boy his 9/11 souvenir violates school weapons policy
A souvenir shell casing handed out by veterans at a 9/11 ceremony landed a seven-year-old Missouri boy in hot water when he took the keepsake to school.
Sherry Falke said her son, Zane, forgot he had the souvenir in his pocket when he showed up for class on Tuesday, Fox4KC.com reported. The boy was given the souvenir at a Sept. 11 memorial ceremony in Carrollton, Mo.
"He felt it in his pocket, and he took it out and was showing some of his friends at school," Falke told the station.
"The principal proceeded to reprimand him as though he were bringing live ammunition to school," she said. "I understand that's in the policy, in the handbook, that they cant bring guns to school. I fully support that, but it's an empty blank casing."
Falke said her son's teacher seized the shell casing and took him to the principals office. She claims they Zane he could be suspended from school for 10 days, but instead gave him a silent lunch where he sat by himself and missed two recesses.
Frankly, I'm surprised that the 7 year-old boy was not taken away in cuffs.

The only recourse is to make the people who confronted the boy worried.
Very worried.
For their jobs.
For their car’s paint finish.
For what’s in their coffee.
Make them suffer.
It’s way past time we start using liberal tactics.
He might have taken that empty blank casing and put it in a pop tart and then pretend to shoot at someone, damaging their poor little psyche for life.
In Obola-the-Undocumented’s world,
only Moslems, criminals, vetted terrorists,
“rebels”, and the EXEMPT and their staff,
will be allowed to have weapons.
instead gave him a silent lunch where he sat by himself and missed two recesses.”
...a$$holes should be given “silent lunch”! At home! Without pay!
been sayin’ that for years ... along with ‘just say no’
Good thing he wasn’t given a P-38 GI Can Opener.
Oooh sharp edges...
The kid could have put that "bullet" in his finger gun and kilt somebody!
A co-worker is very liberal...to the point that his wife won’t let their son have toy guns.
So his fascination grows...and he draws guns in school.
The poor guy has had to go pick up his kid at least 3 times, a ‘team’ of educators and psychologists have been assigned to the boy, and its generally a mess.
Then the kid showed up one day with a mini-survival kit...thread, fishing hooks, lighter...the lighter triggered another defcon 1 event.
If that kid ever finds a spent casing...I think I know what will happen.
PC knows no bounds. The NFL is a bigger enemy than ISIS, which gets a PC pass because it’s Muslim (except it isn’t).
He should just say that he brought a gift for the school admin - a metal condom.
The people in most schools would have no idea what a p38 is.
No wonder our kids learn nothing from these “educators.” Too stupid to know an empty shell casing is not a weapon? Seriously?
This reminds me of something we would do in the army, when we did funerals. We would do the gun salute with blanks, but arrive at the funeral with 3 polished (uncrimped) casings....and slip them into the folded flag before it was presented to the wife or other loved one.
So, if a kid brings a flag like that to show and tell, unbeknownst to the teachers, it may include contraband.
Getting to be about time to start showing up at school board meetings.
In DC, cases are considered ammunition. There are hundreds of cops just waiting to prone you out if the find one on you, or stuck in the tread of your boot. Insanity.
I am sure that nothing in the student code of conduct prohibits bringing an empty brass tube to school. Everyone involved in the decision to punish the child is either an ideologue harming the child to push his ideology, or a mental deficient incapable of making rational decsions. Either way no one involved in this fiasco is capable of being in charge of children and should be terminated immediately. That is the line that should be taken by every responsible parent in the school. Taken to the principle, taken to the school board, taken to the news, and taken to the legislature.
