Ebola's Warning for an Unprepared America

The Department of Homeland Security's inspector general just issued a highly critical report finding that DHS lacks sufficient supplies and preparedness to handle a domestic pandemic. Thirteen years ago, soon after the 9/11 attacks, letters laced with anthrax killed five Americans. Just as 9/11 revealed the country's vulnerabilities to terror attacks, the anthrax episode exposed the need for better routine surveillance and strategic stockpiling of key countermeasures against viral outbreaks or bioterror attacks. We're still far less prepared than we should be, and far more vulnerable than we're admitting.

"Oh I see it's us on the outside that are not ready as the bunker door closes.
Not a problem. Call someone with a welding truck... "
A cheap cutting torch outfit on a tiny, cheap trailer will do it, or a mini cutting torch outfit. The hardware is cheap at Harbor Freight. There are also plasma cutters, air arcs, etc. A super cheap air arc setup can be made at home with a cheap arc welder and air compressor. There are also cutoff wheels for cheap grinders. Or one could simply build a giant bonfire over a bunker for a few hours to allow much more time to figure out how to get in later.

Well, obviously, if the disease doesn't slow down on its own, most of us will be Ebola stew in short order. I'm series.
It doesn't blow through like the flu. It moves very slowly but very surely. Granted, here in the States, it might move much faster initially because of travel being so much more common. Zip--millions of travelers crisscrossing all at the same time from all ends of the country to others! But Ebola does have staying power for sure.
It can linger in each community for a very long time. One would need to hole up for years to avoid getting it. Imagine demented survivors tossing samples all over someone's property (e.g., gates), giving it to the dogs, giving it to wildlife, etc. It could be on everything. A nightmare!

As far as potential traitors within the military (who are willing to serve as human vectors), I think the numbers are miniscule. I’m much more concerned about troops who are being sent to carry out a near-impossible mission without the proper training/equipment, and virtually no regard for their safety.
Going back to my days as a medic—and my experience is very dated, there were only a handful of units/facilities that were remotely qualified to handle something like this: Fort Detrick, and a few folks at Walter Reed, Bethesda (now a single facility) and perhaps Wilford Hall.
One of the most telling moments in this entire affair came when President Obama announced we would not be sharing the experimental Ebola vaccine with doctors in the most-affected countries because they were “incapable of using it” or something like that. The real truth, I believe, is that our leaders know Ebola’s arrival in the U.S. is inevitable, and the few available doses have been reserved for senior government officials and members of their families.

They have much higher priorities like running the democrat vote farm(trucking in illegals), stripping us of our rights and trying to shut down the people who are onto them. Muslim outreach, global warming, LGBT, on and on
Anything but security and safety for US citizens

“Obama will do all in his power to contaminate the US military and spread Ebola here in the states.”
Number in today’s paper was Obama sending 3,000 military to Ebola region. You bet, they will get it and bring it back. The doctor who came back for treatment lives in Fort Worth, less than 40 miles from here.
Sending 3,000 military there exposes all of us.

In another study, Ebolavirus dried onto glass, polymeric silicone rubber, or painted aluminum alloy is able to survive in the dark for several hours under ambient conditions (between 20 and 250C and 3040% relative humidity) (amount of virus reduced to 37% after 15.4 hours), but is less stable than some other viral hemorrhagic fevers (Lassa) Footnote 53. When dried in tissue culture media onto glass and stored at 4 °C, Zaire ebolavirus survived for over 50 days
[At -70C, it can be preserved virtually indefinitely--more recently deleted from the site above.]

Perhaps all muzzies, the peaceful, the moderate and the militant, will decide to leave if it is known that Ebola has arrived in America.

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping! Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

My tinfoil hat is sending me messages that say that perhaps stories such as this post and the CDC one that you mention are put out there to prepare us mentally for when the Soros Administration declares martial law as the only way to protect all of us from these horrid diseases.
