Democrats are now (very slightly) favored to hold the Senate majority on Nov. 4, according to Election Lab, The Post's statistical model of the 2014 midterm elections.
Election Lab puts Democrats' chances of retaining their majority at 51 percent a huge change from even a few months ago, when the model predicted that Republicans had a better than 80 percent chance of winning the six seats they need to take control. (Worth noting: When the model showed Republicans as overwhelming favorites, our model builders led by George Washington University's John Sides warned that the model could and would change as more actual polling as opposed to historical projections played a larger and larger role in the calculations. And, in Republicans' defense, no one I talked to ever thought they had an 80 percent chance of winning the majority.)
So, what exactly has changed to move the Election Lab projection? Three big things:

Aw; come on now. Don’t be talking about Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell and Haley Barbour that way.
MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD
______________________________________________
BULLSHIT! I’m so sick and tired of Pubbies blaming their ineptness and stupidity on voter fraud. If that is the case, we’ve heard it for years. Why has the GOP not been smart enough, by now, to combat, and offset it? It’s not freakin’ voter fraud. It’s the fact that the GOP does not have a “Conservative” alternative message for the American people.
Don’t forget.... Bill Cassidy has voted Democrat in the past. He has even given campaign contributions to Senator Thunder Thighs.
The Dems. only hope is to discourage Republicans into staying home and not voting.

EXCUSE ME!!!! Mitch McConnell, Karl Rove, Thad Cochran and Haley Barbour did that without any help from the Dems.
PULEEEEZE! See Post #102
Why did Cleveland and Miami hold out their vote totals until they knew how many they needed to win Ohio and Florida in 2008?
/bow /bow!
So, what you are saying is that the Dems are more street wise than the GOP. If that be the case, and we are to freakin’ dumb to stop it, maybe we deserve to get our butts handed to us every election. No sympathy here Buckeye. If you can’t run with the big dogs, stay on the damn porch.
The GOPe refuses to go on offensive. Can’t win a battle just being on defense.
Then our country is lost.
,,use the info to raise more money for the Conservatives,”
Well, that is what they are doing. Received an email from Romney today asking for money for the National Republican Committee. Just shook my head and hit the spam button.
Nope it is propaganda. I said long ago that Harry would not change the rules of the Senate if he thought there would be any chance they would lose the Senate and the only way he could know that is because the fix is in.
I suggest you get your eyes checked.
I believe this poll. It matches Nate Silver’s. Pathetic senatorial campaigns being run by RINOs.
They should let their testes drop, but it wont happen.
NC changed too.
They are all pretending to be anti Obama despite a voting record. All are dodging Obamacare. And Repubs are generally running mealy mouth GOPe campaigns.
You are absolutely correct. The one thing the GOP has in their control IS HOW THEY RUN THEIR CAMPAIGN. And your right, it is mealy mouthed. No attack ads against Obama and the dems, no attacks against Obamacare and amnesty, etc., no criticism at all and no plans.
I think calling this a study is too much—it is simply garbage. And so is the GOP’s lack of any message in what should be one of their best election cycles.
The Democrats are scared, but it’s only their own shadow behind them. The GOP is nowhere to be seen or heard. Where is the rhetoric of Reagan or even Newt? 6 years of sedition and nothing but whining and hand wringing from your precious GOP Congress. There’s not three men among them and not half of one in a major position.
