The suspect in the killing of a trooper and the critical wounding of another outside a rural barracks is a survivalist...
Eric Matthew Frein, 31, of Canadensis, Pa., is still armed with the .308-caliber rifle that he used to open fire on the barracks late Friday, State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan said at a news conference where he revealed the suspect's name.
Noonan called Frein "extremely dangerous."

He's going to draw a couple of dogs and get his butt chewed.
Putting the tinfoil hat on, and realizing that most criminals aren't the smartest folks out there; but this seems like an awful lot of information to just find nice.
Sort of reminds of the movie Jack Reacher where the evidence found at a crime scene is a little too perfect.
Apparently someone who's dog does not get shot when the police show up.
Totally looks like...
He might be daring the police to come after him because he wants to take a few more with him before he is taken down.
What a range permit. I’ve been to many ranges on SGL and never needed a permit.
He ain’t Rambo. One flyover with a helo with thermal imaging and his goose is cooked.
I haven’t heard about casings at the house.
And which, ironically, was also set in PA (although in the other corner of the state).
Ruby Ridge Redux
They brought an aweful lot of hardware to bear on Eric Rudolph and never found him 'til a rookie cop essentially stumbled over him while investigating a suspected burglary.
This is in fact nothing like Ruby Ridge.
The casings are Aussie 7.62 surplus ball ammo. Headstamp year 88. They are berdan primed and non-reloadable.
Not real available now, but not rare.
I watched the press conference today. They also found internet postings where he had said he wanted to kill police. And family and friends said they weren’t surprised it was him behind the trooper assasination.
That would all be a little difficult for an unrelated killer to set up in advance to frame him.
Regarding the cops being careless or jumping the gun on this, if your brother was just murdered would you want to solve the case quickly and just get anybody convenient or would you be careful to make sure you really got the guy who killed him?
They thought Weaver was nutcase survivalist. There was a confrontation and shootout.
The facts in an open court are important. Did the guy have accomplices? Did he act alone? Are their other acts which associates may be planning?
Slowing this thing down benefits everyone including the victims and possibly future victims.
I wonder what his Free Republic screen name is?
“Not probable, not impossible either.”
Not impossible, but extremly improbable. Here’s more on his background:

Sorry I sent to wrong post.
I heard it was a pickup truck, don’t know yet.
