I have no doubt that the “Asians” are drawn to redheads.
This is shocking, but when given thought, it makes terrible sense. Any parent who enrolls their children in public schools when they have other options is not taking their responsibilities seriously.
I’ve been looking around for a while looking for the best reason to homeschool. Is the best reason yet, or does it only apply to parents whose children have red hair?
Government schools ping
I have a red headed step brother, but he seems pretty cool.
My limited experience with red headed people seems to show they have a higher tolerance for pain. Anyone joining the Islamic faith can expect to try the limits of that tolerance.
About 15 years ago, an anthropologist put forth an interesting paper saying that the Neanderthals didn’t die out but just moved to Scotland where they then blended in to the rest of humanity. While I have great respect for those rugged people, some of the most interesting variations in human form seem to belong to that community.
The letters: “N,” “I,” “G,” “G,” “E,” & “R”
Spell a hateful and derogatory word, used to abuse and denigrate - GINGER!
I’d post that popular eyewash pic of the blessed redhead on her back on the grass but I can’t find it.
I unwittingly participated in an experiment: for many years I brought teddy bears to a hospital once a week, and placed five or six of them at a time on the donation table for wounded soldiers to select for themselves, their wives or kids. I brought bears that reflected typical human hair colors: white, ivory, beige, "ginger", tan, brown and black. I noticed that white people sometimes chose brown or black bears and African-Americans sometimes chose white or ivory bears; but almost every week, the "gingers" were the last bears chosen.
Which I really don't get, since if you have red hair, you or your ancestors are probably more likely to be from that part of the world more than from anywhere else.
Is it an anti-Irish thing? Or just that English redheads are particularly freakish and Rupert Grintish?
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
The bullying alone would be enough of a reason.
Can't have any of that being different stuff.
Have you read the book, The Giver? Everyone the same. No differences.
The movie is pretty good, too, BTW. I went and saw it last week.
During WWII the japs were especially cruel to red headed prisoners of war.
The color red seems to provoke people. Studies have shown that people in a room painted red are more likely to argue.
I have noticed that in pictures from Gaza, there is always some red headed, British looking guy at the funerals.
Alienation may have something to do with it. But then, you don’t see a lot of Jews becoming terrorists.
This is all very strange to me. There was lots of bullying in the schools I went to, including of me, but I don’t remember any aimed at redheads at all.
I never even heard the term “ginger” until a few years ago, and then I thought the whole notion of their being undesirable was intended as a joke. But I guess it’s not. UK seems to be very weird in this regard.
I’m a natural redhead of Norman/Scot ancestry traced back to King David, and I wasn’t bullied much in school. Of course, back then I had quite a temper and didn’t take much crap. I was pretty scrappy and even the boys knew when to quit. :-)
I have mellowed quite a bit.
I guess the recent season of “24”, which featured a red headed Englishwoman islamoterrorist, was partially inspired by this phenomenon.
