In Shift, U.S. Calls Fight With Jihadists 'War' White House Defines Operation Against Islamic State in Tougher Terms, Hails Commitments From 40 Nations for Help
By JEFFREY SPARSHOTand EMRE PEKER Sept. 12, 2014 The White House and Pentagon said Friday that the U.S. is "at war" with the Islamic State militant group, shifting the way the conflict was defined a day earlier by Secretary of State John Kerry, who called it a large-scale "counterterrorism" operation.
The change in the description reflected the Obama administration's continuing struggle with how to cast the international campaign it is assembling to counter...

They can call it war today. However it is yet to be seen if Obama will maintain focus and actually implement a policy that will destroy ISIS. Obama confuses rhetoric with leadership and accomplishment.
Yep. And then maybe tomorrow it will be called a "kinetic action." Then after the public loses interest, it will be called an "intervention."
But one thing is for sure. Whatever Obama does here, it will not end well.
“US calls it war, White House and Pentagon say, SOS Kerry calls it ... “
I say potato,
You say potahto
I say tomato,
You say tomahto—
Let’s call the whole war off.
Man, what a warmonger our peacekeeping pResident has become, huh?
Pencil-necked, to be sure but very fierce in a hesitant, ferret-like way.
While USA is again bogged down in middle-east war, China is not spending a single Yuan in middle-east wars.
While USA is upto it’s eyeballs in debt, and borrowing Billions more, China keeps buying up mines and businesses world wide.
While USA protects oil flow to China from middle-east, China is busy expanding it’s trade surplus with USA. They know reprisals will be swift and harsh.
While USA worries about threats from ISIS, China has no such worries. ISIS or any other muzzies dare not ruffle China’s feathers.
Not exactly true. Everybody has a Muslim problem and China is no exception. They're called Uyghurs.
The rest of your points are well-expressed.

China ‘s Muslim problem is peanuts compared to that faced by Western countries. You will NEVER witness a beheading of a Chinese citizen in the middle-east. You will never see planes flying into tall buildings in Beijing.
Muslims are natural trouble makers. If there are 10 Muslims in a country, there will be a problem. Just a matter of degree.
Again, not exactly true. There are 10 million Uyghurs in China's western provinces and they have already done plenty of jihad stuff.
-33 massacred at a Kunming railway station
-Dozens of people killed or injured in an attack on a police station in Chinas Xinjiang region
-Islamic jihadists murder six farmers in the western Chinese region of Xinjiang
-Muslims murder five police officers in attack on security checkpoint
-13 Islamic jihadists killed as they attack police station in Yecheng County, Kashgar province
-Islamic jihadists murder 31, injure 90 with bombs in crowded market in the northwestern region of Xinjiang
There are from the first half page of Google results.
Flying into tall buildings in Beijing someday certainly cannot be discounted.

It’s not a war until Congress declares it one.
It,s a Crusade.
Wow, I guess I was not paying attention to news from China.
Thanks for the information.
A slap war.
Righto. And the Korean War was a "police action." I hope you weren't being serious.

Up to now, at least, it is only political Kabuki Theater. Clown Prince and his entourage of foreign service misshapen heads don’t know much about anything. This country is devolving into a LIB freak show (like freak shows at the old time county fair). What clueless wonders. Are there enough prison cells for all these moonbat asshats in this administration?
It was never offically called a war. Neither was Vietnam.
I wouldn’t call it a police action, nor war. I would call it more of a ‘huff’. The Pres—ent is going to wage a huff - with a side order of bloviation.
