This was in release in September, 1968, but I don't think it charted anywhere. It is unlike any other song that this group ever recorded.
When I hear this, it makes me want to go out and walk a precinct for Nixon.

Although Connie Francis, the long-reigning queen of Top 40, had long ago been swept off the charts by Beatlemania, she was busy in 1968 churning out Adult Contemporary tunes to entertain a more mature audience. Out here, she could be heard on KFI and KPOL. Here's one of her timely releases:
