In early June 1964, a group of Republican governors sought to wrestle control of their party from Barry Goldwater, the Arizona conservative who was about to lead the GOP to one of the most crushing defeats in its history. The governors saw a disaster in the making, and sought a moderate candidate who could capture the imaginations of grassroots Republicansbut also beat President Lyndon Johnson in the general election. Led by Ohios James Rhodesthe Republican Governors Association was meeting in Cleveland, and Rhodes was a legendary vote counterthe group included Pennsylvanias William Scranton and later New Yorks Nelson Rockefeller.

Couple that interview or statement with the real Mitt Romneythe one from the documentary speaking to the nation from the heart every day and on every stop. Match that Mitt against the polished and calculating Hillary Clinton. Well then, as Paul Ryan said, the third time really could be the charm. Romney may still do this2016 needs Mitt even if Mitt doesnt think he needs it yet.

INSANITY - Trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
True. Romney perhaps COULD win, finally.
And then do what?
Is that photoshopped, or was that taken at the Reagan Library?
Insanity - Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
You must have been unaware at the time that there was an illegal alien Muslim terrorist living in the White House.
No.
Hewitt has always been a fake conservative, just like Mitt Romney.
The guy just doesn't have or radiate much enthusiasm or conviction, and there's the 47% comment always floating in the background.
Inordinate praise like this may appeal to his ego and wear down his resistance, though, if Republicans don't find a candidate for 2016.

Romney coming out again as pro-abortion again and running pro-choice ads just before the election, hurt turnout.
I am willing to give George P. Bush a chance notwithstanding his name. His name is closing a lot more doors than it is opening.
If he does a good job as Texas Land Commissioner then he has a political future. If not then he won’t.
Vote Willard ! Hillary (or Fauxcahontas) needs a ringer.
His luster as “good governor of Florida” has got some smudges on it. He embraced Common Core but renamed it. Anyone who would do that to education just to attract some Federal dollars, has zero qualification for the governorship, much less the presidency. He is, first and last, a Bush. If he is the nominee he will not win the presidency, unless for some reason, Soros and the MSM are enamored of a third Dynast. Then he would win whether he wants to or not.
Republicans are to the Democrats what the SRs were to the Bolsheviks in 1917- going the same direction and serving the real rulers as a convenient whipping boy until their usefulness is deemed to be at an end.
That is my estimation of it.

Phhht...Cruz is a giant sequoia amongst twigs.
Cruz is the only public official I want to vote for right now, the other person is Palin
Common Core didn’t exist when Bush was Governor of Florida. He did incredible things for the state’s miserable education system by requiring teacher, school and district responsibility, and the unions hated him.
I don’t know why he agreed to Common Core later (that is, years after he was out of office) but this is something he could be challenged on.
I think Romney would most likely lose by a smaller margin than in 2012. Even if he could win though, he is the wrong man for the job.
You’re right. It’s late. I was thinking of Bush as still governor.
