I think the “donors” (plural) mean it was a younger woman’s egg, plus a male sperm donor. The article indicates the same donors this time around, so the kids will be 100% siblings of two other people.
Yes-except in rare cases, most of us are either into menopause or just about done with it at 51-so baby making does not happen much at that age without massive and unsafe doses of hormones and probably sperm and egg donors to help beat the odds of having a disabled child.

The 2 year-old is female. Girls need fathers, or they grow up with no idea of what a good man is, or what to accept as appropriate (or not) from the men in their lives.

All kids of both sexes need a sane,decent mother and a sane,decent father.Yes,it's true that one of the important things a girl learns from her father is how men are supposed to treat people,females in particular.If the father is good to her and her mother she'll learn to settle for nothing less from her future husband.
