51 and pregnant

Tracey Kahn is a successful publicist. She is single, lives in a beautiful apartment in Manhattan, has a 2-year-old daughter, and is pregnant with again. She is 51.

Last time I saw a facial expression like that lady has, it involved a lady who’d just taken a pair of scissors to some clothing and then blamed the dog.

Never occurs to this dumb ass that when she’s 71, her kid will be twenty, and still in need of parental support psychologically.

If she were married, the dad might at least be around to help out. If something happens to her, the kid is adrift.

Isn’t this just charming. And then there’s the two year old.

Of course this situation is described in glowing terms. Ah it’s just a life choice you know. “I don’t care what others think.”

Doesn’t give a damn about the kids either.

Exactly, it's not very fair to the kid. God forbid what if the second child has a serious medical problem? Who going to care for him or her? The older child? What a burden.

I am pro-life all the way but this woman is just being selfish. Get a dog for crying out loud.

Just more people who want to be their own God. God made us a certain way for a reason. Think what those hormones have to be doing to the babies! I am 50, there is no way on God’s green earth I would have the energy to parent a child and carry one. Are you kidding me?

It’s my understanding (but I ain’t no doctor) that as a woman ages her eggs somehow slowly (or not so slowly )deteriorate to the point where birth abnormalities of various sorts become more likely.Of course someone with a medical degree has better info on this than do I.

There is a season to having babies. My grandmother started having babies when she was 18. She was still having babies when she was 38. BUT! There is less likely to be birth defects when you keep having them, it can still happen.

But having your first one much over 35 is still pretty risky. I would love the baby birth defects and all, but is that my right to insist that I have a baby when God has not gifted me with it? (Conceiving naturally).

I think people who use drugs to prolong or restart reproduction at an age when God wisely designed it to shut off are just asking for something awful to happen-they don’t need a kid-they need a therapist to help them address their emotional problems...

I'm not sure that they're *allowing* it.I think it's more a case of "if the boats reach our waters we can either sink them or rescue the occupants".I've read in Australian papers that Australia has the same kind of problem with boats from Indonesia,another place that's seldom mistaken for Paradise (I've been there).

There is always adoption, which given this situation would be the most loving alternative for the children. The hubris of the mother however, prevents consideration of others and forces only consideration of self. Hubris (Pride) is truly the root cause of ALL sin and evil in the world...

I agree. If you absolutely must have a child at 51, adopt for crying out loud! Lots of little ones needing a home.

Must have been a great career. So which Fortune 500 is she CEO of? Heads what law firm? Chief of surgery somewhere? College president? What? OOH, good luck to her, but I also think she's very selfish - she did this for herself, not for the children.

North Africans = Muslims. Many industrialized countries are experiencing negative population growth. Many governments are seeking to replace them with low-education, low-skilled laborers from turd world countries thinking that somehow they will be able to keep their culture when they are being overwhelmed by Muslims or Mexicans/Central Americans.

Chances are she will never live to see grandchildren, maybe not even graduation. Hell, many (most?) women become grandmothers before 51.

Ha! I was wondering the same thing. I guess she means her 2 year old? Her parents??? (They have to be in their mid 70’s - 80’s...so, they wouldn’t be able to raise these kids, should something happen to Ms F Myrtle).
