A Republican Senate candidate in Oregon is bucking the GOP by embracing gay marriage in a new campaign ad.
The ad, from the campaign of Dr. Monica Wehby who is challenging incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley, prominently features a gay couple Ben West, of Portland, who filed a lawsuit in 2013 with partner Paul Rummell to overturn Oregons same sex-marriage ban that went into effect in 2004.
The majority of the Republican Party has opposed gay marriage, making Wehby a maverick in her party.

I am speechless. I didn’t vote for her and don’t think I will vote for her this fall.
I certainly want Merkley out of there, but is this replacing the wolf in the hen house with another wolf?
**I warned folks that her candidacy would be a fiasco, I was right.**
I did likewise.
God bless you.
The fellow who ran against her was VERY conservative. Too bad he didn’t win the race.
If you would like more information about what's happening in Oregon, please FReepmail me. I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed recently, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
Seems so. But she has the qualifying (R) by her name. </s>
Today's liberal is brought to your by the letter (R).
GOP will NOT win the Senate and will lose House seats.
State Rep. Jason Conger, who actually has electoral experience.
“Just spent two weeks in Oregon and it is one beautiful state. Too bad all the Californians that have moved there over the past bunch of years have ruined it.”
I thought “all the Californians” moved to Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Idaho and Texas.
He would have been a great candidate against Merkley.
It’s Oregon. The most beautiful place in America (Alaska without the cold) but very libertarian, everyone owns a gun, smokes pot, and supports same sex marriage.
Well, I agree that she must be supported, but we should not do it blindly. The more Livertarians that Rand Paul has supporting him in the Senate, the more likely it is that Paul will threaten to run as a third party candidate and take his Congressional members with him, putting Harry Reid back in control.
I don’t trust Rand Paul at all.
So, in short, Oregon is Sodom and Gomorrah with dope fiends. Add to that, plenty of ghetto thugs given free reign to assault whites based on what I experienced in the socialist hellhole of Portland.
That would NOT be me.
I have no use for liberals, especially republican liberals, and seek to politically destroy them whenever I can, primary or general election.

Portland is give or take the safest semi-big city in the country to raise kids. A paradise of a city with great culture, dining, nature, and night scene. But yes, very liberal like most cities. They banned plastic bags which is the stupidest thing ever. Still a great place to visit and probably the best US city in terms of quality of life.
My experience there shows otherwise. The crime numbers are manipulated by the marxist who run that dump. In reality, the safest places in America are where DemonRATs are fewest (preferably non-existent).
Your basic over-managed candidate who thinks Dens and young people will vote for her. Too bad no Christians will.
Pray America wakes up
I did not vote for her in the primary.
I will vote for her in the general.
Not voting for her in the general is the same thing as voting for Merkley, one of the most liberal Demos in the entire senate.
voting for lefty Republican is the dumbest thing a conservative can do
