Football's Ray Rice will probably get to keep about $25 million that he's been paid, even after he was cut by the Baltimore Ravens in the wake of domestic abuse revelations
snip ... Rice signed a 5-year, $35 million deal in 2012, $15 million of which was a signing bonus. He got another $7 million bonus in 2013, and also collected $3 million in salary over the first two years of the contract.
But almost none of that $25 million can be clawed back by the Ravens or the NFL, according to Mike Ginnitti, managing editor of Spotrac, a Web site which tracks professional sports contracts.
Rice probably will lose the $9.5 million in salary that he would have received for this year through the end of 2016.

Maybe his battered lady could sue him for some and move on away from that creep. How soon would he attack her again and what was the reason he attacked her in the first place? She looked at some other guy???
Doesn’t matter. He’ll be broke within two years.
I wonder if he’s smart enough to hang on to it?
WHOA seriously???
Sooner than that. She will divorce him, get half, the lawyers the other half.
I believe she will get the lion’s share of that money.
Otherwise;... “Show me the fiat Obama money...”
Taxes will eat a lot of that paid money if it already hasn’t.
How long until he’s an analyst for the NFL Network or ESPN? I say within 6 years.
I would be mindful to watch for how the league and the sports media “lament” about the “what could have been” syndrome next to any “Ray Rice” categories...
There will probably be some “*” next to his name whenever he is on those lists...
example:
Ray Rice (2014)*
I mean it really is such a fickle social condition when someone could get banned for life for “betting” on a sport they participate in, yet someone like this can get a 2 game suspension for almost killing someone...
Just because you are contracted to make millions of dollars to entertain people doesn’t mean you are above the law or social scrutiny...
I would publically shame every single sports writer or promoter for ever uttering this schmups name ever again...
He should man up and donate part of that to a foundation that helps NFL wives suffering from concussions.
I doubt it. He beat the crap out of her and she still married him.
I say never.
A lot of Ravens fans were initially disappointed that his suspension was so short. As bad as he was over the past year or so, I say good riddance.
Something called co-dependency. I wanted to get a book on it but couldn’t find anyone to go with me.
She chose to marry him so maybe the beating is worth the money she thought he’d continue to make in football.
he’ll be playing next year..bet on it
