The Execution of Clayton D. Lockett
OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY ^ | 9/5/2014

Posted on 09/05/2014 5:36:14 PM PDT by BraveMan

On the morning of April 29, Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC) personnel began procedures to prepare for Lockett’s and Warner’s executions at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary (OSP) in McAlester, Oklahoma.

Lockett’s execution was scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Lockett was removed from his cell that morning and taken to the Institutional Health Care Center (IHCC), located on prison grounds, for self-inflicted lacerations to the inside of his arms and his pre-execution medical examination.

Lockett remained at IHCC until later that afternoon, when he was returned to H-Unit to await his execution. Lockett was taken to the execution chamber, placed onto the table, and after failed attempts in other locations, an intravenous (IV) line was started in Lockett’s right groin area. On the order of Warden Anita Trammell, the administration of execution drugs began. Several minutes into the process, it was determined there was a problem with the IV patency. The execution was stopped and Lockett later died in the execution chamber.

Why not just whack him with heroin, or some other barbiturate.

These “humane” ways of execution are traps to end capital punishment. They want them to fail, so they can call them “botched” executions.

Then they can release these animals to g out and kill again. The cna get whole week of stories about that.

A single quiet execution that actually goes off as planned has no sensational value

It's not my intention to be the judge here — that's God's "job" — but rather to "hasten the meeting" so that He can send the convicted and death-sentenced subhuman filth to the "Fires of Hell", "River or Lake of Sulphur", or whatever He deems appropriate.

I'd gladly/happily and personally volunteer, at no cost to any of my Hard-Working, Fellow US Taxpayers, to gladly/gleefully/happily headshoot these murderous, lowlife dirtbags of all stripes — their skin-color doesn't matter one whit to me, at all — and rid American Society's innocents — especially our too-vulnerable, precious children and the frail, defenseless elderly — of the subhuman criminals who prey upon them, once-and-for-ever. And yes, I'd rather see one innocent man convicted and executed, than 10 murderers, robbers, child rapists-murderers freed, to rob, rape and murder again. Hey, call me an "Old Fashioned Conservative"! Too harsh? Nah. Someone needs to take out the trash! I volunteer.

The 6th Commandment actually says: "Thou Shalt Not Murder". It does NOT say, "Thou Shalt Not Kill." I personally don't consider any summary-execution — except by subhuman, murderous muslim/islamic pigshit — as murder, in any way, shape or form. It's "Due-Justice-For-Crimes-On-This-Earth", IMO.

The Death Penalty is The Foundation of Government.

Yes, I agree with the premise of this article, that "the death penalty is a Noahic Covenant with God, in a post-flood world", and America should apply it every-damned-day, to those deserving death for their crimes against society and its innocents.

Society's innocents — from our precious, defenseless children, and all in between, to the frail, defenseless elderly — must be protected from predators, murderers, rapists, robbers and other subhuman filth, at all times and at any cost, IMO.

“It is simply to simple and easy to go with tried and true ways of ending life.”

The best method of execution is to simply put the perp in an airtight chamber and remove the air. It works like a charm and produces a euphoric feeling in the perp. Hell, give him/her a foofoo drink or a 6 pack. It only takes a tiny amount of time.

You are thinking of an air tight chamber and removing the CO2 as the perp uses up the O2.

The euphoria occurs as the brain becomes oxygen starved. Excess CO2 causes pain so removing the CO2 removes the pain of asphyxiation.

Thanks. You did a commendable job of telling me what I just said.

frankly the people who end up death row do not deserve a ‘painless’ death. They have tortured, abused, and engaged in unknown cruelty to their victims.....So what if they don’t have a painless death?

Removing the air from an air tight chamber would be to put the perp in a vacuum. Hardly a painless death.

The execution was stopped and Lockett later died in the execution chamber.

Sounds to me like they got the desired result...NEXT!

Firing squads use to work very well....quick and accurate...done deal. ..and not twenty years of numerous appeals either!

You know if the penalty was swift and gruesome maybe people would think twice about murder. But no, we have murders living comfortably for years and then what, they expect to be gently, painlessly put to sleep? Make grisly, make it painful, make it a real deterrent!

Potassium cyanide vapors would have done the job nicely. If they are so damned worried about the executee suffering pain then why do they not use carbon monoxide? It just makes you very sleepy until you go to sleep. You don’t then wake up. CO would be as effective and cheaper to acquire and administer.
Lock the perp in the execution chamber with a 63 VW that is running and wait for nature to take its course.

Stephanie Neiman was 19 and two weeks a graduate of Perry High School in Oklahoma, where she played the saxophone in the band. It would be unduly cruel to point out that she had her whole life ahead of her, given what we know today.

On June 3, 1999, Stephanie was driving a friend home in her Chevy pickup and had the misfortune of arriving when three men were there, supposedly attempting to beat a debt out of Bobby Bornt, 23, who lived there with his 9-month-old son.

One man hit Stephanie’s friend with a shotgun and forced her to call Stephanie inside. The men then raped the friend and beat Stephanie, when she refused to give up her truck keys. They bound her with duct tape and drove her to a country road.

Still, she refused to say she wouldn’t call the police on them, so they forced her to her knees and made her watch one gunman dig a grave. When one man shot her, his gun jammed, while Stephanie screamed. The man cleared his weapon and shot her again. Even though she was still breathing, the man ordered his accomplices to bury her, which they did.

It’s not clear whether it took 43 minutes more for her to die, and we can’t ask her now if she suffered.

I’ll tell you what, if a murderer suffers pain during his/her execution, I don’t think I’ll suffer any loss of sleep. In fact, I might sleep even better and I sleep pretty good as it is!
