[Mod note: Title and story changed at link--Western military charter plane lands in Iran]
CNN’s Pentagon reporter says she has taken this same route before. It’s common for non military personnel.
This flight had been scheduled way back before George Bush left office...
Ted Koppel on Nightline ?LOL
Yep just don’t take for granted the timing of your clearance or the political state of the country you are flying over regardless of clearance.
When it went to Syria, the Al-Shams (the sun) was added.
"Levant" is Dear Reader's way of avoiding that these are the Syrian "rebels" he was so concerned with.
“A Fly Dubai charter plane flying from Bagram Air Field to Dubai was re-routed to Bandar Abbas, Iran because of a bureaucratic issue today,” the [State Department] official said.
“Contrary to press reports, this plane was not forced down by the Iranian military,” the official added. “The issue appears to have been resolved and hopefully the plane will be able to take off soon.”

If it wasn’t forced down why did it land? I notice it hasn’t left yet.
No problem just leave a few pieces of advanced, highly-classified military cargo on the transport in exchange for the fuel they need, and they’ll be allowed to go on their way
Sorry, Obama isn’t presidenting today. Leave a message at the tone.....
The "JV team" is probably the reason for this. He can NOT lay this at W's feet.
I think you might have something there.
May not have enough cash on board to pay the “landing fees” and the “ground service fees”.
Wow.... Now we are giving our military secrets to Iran the way Clinton did to the Chinese. We are sooooooo screwed.
There's a vast difference between bureaucratic problems and mechanical problems. IOW, they haven't a clue and can't be bothered to buy one.
A plane with 100 Americans on board took off from the U.S. military air base at Bagram in Afghanistan was ordered to land inside Iran and has been held for hours, U.S. officials said today.
The Fly Dubai plane was on its way to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates but apparently took off hours later than scheduled, the officials said. By the time it was over Iran, Iranian authorities said the plane’s flight plan was no longer valid and the plane was ordered to land.
This was a bureaucratic issue with the flight plan of the plane, a senior U.S. official told ABC News. Everybody is working on the issue and we expect it to be resolved in the very near future.”
The plane is currently at an airport in southeast Iran and the official said “hopefully” the plane will be able to take off soon.

Note to self: Do not take a charter flight!!!
I’m guessing the administration won’t define “soon”.
You got that right. “There was an earthquake, a terrible flood,...”
Somehow Baraq is linked to the event personally.
Yup...justice in Ferguson too.
