full title....Mystery of the missing tanker: Ship carrying $100million in Kurdish oil vanishes from radar screens 60 miles off the coast of Texas
A tanker loaded with $100 million of crude oil that has been at the center of a dispute over Iraq's oil billions vanished off the coast of Texas on Thursday.
The Kurdish tanker disappeared from Coast Guard radar screens following a month of legal wrangling over whether it can offload its cargo in the U.S.
As the disintegration of Iraq amid mounting violence continues, the semi-autonomous regime in Kurdistan in the north of Iraq is trying to cash in on Iraq's oil reserves and export its own crude.

Vey peculiar.
Off the coast of Texas?
Not Somalia?
I’m guessing they gave up waiting and took it to sell elsewhere.
I bought that oil fair and square via some new friends in Nigeria.
I expect it is parked next to the missing airliner.
Just a guess:
The “IT WAS ALIENS” guy is about to appear in 5, 4, 3, 2...
Maybe the Kurds cut a deal with Pemex. Cheaper oil in exchange for no court battles.
How do they get it out of the country? the Kurds are land-locked. They must be paying huge fees to smugglers/turkish and iraqi politicians.
Already found again, see previous thread from this morning.

A maritime tracking system had not detected the tanker United Kalavryta since Monday night when a court ruling made it likely the legal battle will continue.

It has been here for weeks off Galveston. LyondellBasell, owner of Houston Refining, was going to purchase oil from it.
