Former Rep. Ron Paul said he believes the U.S. government had prior knowledge of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and has kept this information hidden in a classified section of the 9/11 Commission report.
Paul, who made the comments during a radio interview last Friday, also argued that the crimes of Osama bin Laden were minor compared to the harm the U.S. government has caused since the 2001 attacks.
I believe that if we ever get the full truth [about 9/11], well find out that our government had it in the records exactly what the plans were, or at least close to it, said Paul, during the interview with Money and Markets host Charles Goyette. You already mentioned that [the U.S. government] had been warned that something was going to happen.
However, Paul said he doubted that Bush administration officials personally helped plot the attacks.
Does that prove the fact that our president and others actually sat down and laid the plans and did this? I dont think it does, he said.
Paul also said the U.S. government has been more destructive than 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.
Our own government did more harm to the liberties of the American people than bin Laden did, said Paul. [Bin Laden] was a monster himself, but that was minor compared to the damage done financially, the people that have died. And here we are, 24 years, and were still fighting a war in the pretense that had something to do with 9/11.(continued)

I get what you’re saying, but guys like Paul love the microphone too much. They make public statements that really confuse people who aren’t well grounded. They think, wow, he was really great on that issue. He must be great on everything. Sadly he’s not even close to great on the other things. Lots of times he’s absolutely terrible.
Do you want this wing-nut spouting this 09/11 truther stuff from Congress? Then when he agrees with you, another group of people wonder why, and think you’re wrong even when you are right.
They just muddy the waters too darn much.
“woof woof” goes the barking moonbat.

Totally misleading title, as well.
However, there are plenty who are swallowing his and his son's isolationist rhetoric. Very destructive.
So the US government had prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks and did NOTHING ?
Sorry, not buying it....
Even if they did, they could not have known when it was being carried out....
Maybe Ron Paul should read the book “The Looming Tower” before making an ass of himself....
Show me where it’s misleading based on the content of the article.
F**k wRONg PAUL
It also would’ve helped if the incoming Bush administration had had the time to do a proper transition rather than having to fight the Gore team over voting in Florida. People don’t seem to remember that Dubya didn’t get the standard three months to ramp-up into the White House that almost every other president had.
What’s that saying about nuttier than squirrel poop?
However, Paul said he doubted that Bush administration officials personally helped plot the attacks.
The title of the article would have you believe that Ron Paul believes that the government had specific knowledge of the plans, date, time, flights etc... Not what he's saying.
After the '93 attacks, we all had foreknowledge that another attack was coming on the WTC.
Only evidence I’ve ever seen is some chatter that attacks involving planes were planned.
On 9/10, what did that mean to people? That there would be attempted hijackings, of the traditional variety.
And of course it was one of thousands of pieces of information with no particular reason to set it apart from the others as being uniquely relevant.
These guys make me tired. ANYBODY can see what pieces of information were important after the fact. Before it, not so much.
Time to give Ron his meds and put him to bed.
What an utter nut. His son is a tad more rational, but — My God! — do not run for president and split the vote!
I don't agree with Paul that the U.S. gov't had prior knowledge of 9/11. But if you actually read what he's saying about the rest of the stuff, it's true.
- We surrendered our liberty to pass the Patriot Act that Obama & Co. is now using against us.
- The borders are still open, Muslim terrorists are streaming across, and the gov't don't have the willpower to eradicate these vermin.
- We are being terrorized by the IRS, EPA, Homeland Security, etc.
Look, when Paul talks he doesn't have the clarity of a Rush or Levin. You have to really read what he means. He's kind of like Ann Coulter.
Maybe, maybe not, but who believes Ron?
If it wasn't for Paul, there would be no Tea Party today and the GOP would completely be dead.
Ron Paul deserves a freaking Presidential Medal of Freedom!
just because there might be a single thread of possibility in something doesn't make for good conversation from a supposed conservative icon...
