A crowd of family, friends, music stars, civil rights leaders and preachers gathered at the Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church on Monday for the memorial of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old robbery suspect who was fatally shot by local police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Mo.
Brown’s uncle, Pastor Charles Ewing, gave a passionate eulogy and made parallels of his nephew’s life and that of the life of Jesus Christ.
“Michael Brown was 18 years old. He was shot around noon. Our Lord and Savior hung on the cross — now compare our time frame 12 o’clock to the Jewish time frame which is at the sixth hour. Michael Brown died on August the 9th. Jesus hung on the cross between the sixth and the 9th hour.”
Pastor Ewing continued his Jesus comparison by tying the St. Louis area’s geography to biblical numbers.
“If you look at the demographics of St. Louis, Missouri, we are known for the Gateway to the West. Now Holy Spirit said ‘well, look at 12 gates of Israel.’ The East gate that Jesus is going to walk to is shaped like an arch. Look at Interstate 70 rides 2, 153 miles from Maryland to all the way to Utah. Jesus spent 70 hours. Israel went into captivity for 70 years.”
The pastor went on to compare Brown to the story of Cain and Abel:
“Abel are mentioned in this passage seven times. Abel is mentioned in this passage 14 times. Brother is mentioned in this passage seven times. The question that Cain asked God — because his sacrifice was not acceptable because God is required before we come to him that our sacrifice is accepted before him.
Cain asked God: ‘Am I my brother’s keeper?’ This is a question we should ask one another. God’s purpose for this to happen — even though we can’t fully understand. But at such a time as this, God is shaking his fist.”
Ewing says that, like Jesus had prophesied his own crucifixion, Michael Brown predicted his own death too. The pastor also compared police officer Darren Wilson to “Judas.”
“Michael Brown prophetically spoke of his demise. Not giving justification or legalizing this officer — it does not give him the right to take his life. Judas when he betrayed Jesus Christ — he yet have to suffer the consequences.”
Brown’s uncle closed his comments by comparing Brown’s situation to other mass shooting incidents.
“There is a cry being made from the ground not just for Michael Brown, but for the Trayvon Martins, for those children at Sandy Hook Elementary School, for the Columbine massacre, for the black-on-black crime — there is a cry being made from the ground and God is hearing the vengeance of his slain.
Because God has heard the cry of the blood coming from the ground. He has made a remedy in the person Jesus Christ. That’s why someone said there is a fountain filled with blood that flows… people of God, the nation, we must remind ourselves the question ‘am I my brother’s keeper?’”
Pastor Solomon Williams joined in on the religious comparisons to Brown by calling him a “martyred beloved son.”
“We know that all things work together for good to them that love God. To them who are called according to his purpose. We see and hear the shared and spilled blood of Michael screaming through others for justice and justice will prevail. Justice shall prevail.”
“Our dearly beloved, bereaved family hold your head up high for your martyred beloved son. The devil did it for harm but God will turn it around for good.”

These “Pastors” are in the same league as the Reverends Al & Jesse.
False teachers misleading the people.
I was always under the impression that a “martyr” stood for something. What, exactly, did Michael Brown stand for? The freedom to steal? The freedom to beat up store owners? The freedom to make other people drive around you as you sauntered down the middle of the street? At the risk of seeming inconsiderate, any family that has their lawyer speak at the funeral, and asks that lawyer to thank the Nation of Islam for its support and help, and has the race baiter Al Sharpton speak at the funeral - that family has dropped more than a few notches in credibility. Although, it may explain how the son turned out.
I don’t ever remember Jesus choking the the temple priest to steal cigars - not do I seem to have read where he beat the crap out of the Roman Legionnaire standing around....
It’s nice to see how people use their position to prop themselves up on the backs of those that deserve nothing...as in this case...
Jesus might have walked down the center lane of a two-lane road.....possibly.
One is occasionally tempted to think the unthinkable, and ponder whether the races can ever live together in peace.
Meanwhile, ISIS stooges sneak across the border, eager to make good use of the unrest in America - while Obama giggles and plays golf and considers how best to issue blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants whose numbers include murderers, thieves, rapists, and those wishing to collect countless benefits at the taxpayers’ expense.
This is the sort of thing they preach every sunday.
All this inflamatory reporting of confrontations between black youths and authority is ruthlessly designed to keeping the black segment of Obama’s political support riled up so that any thought of instituting a richly deserved impeachment proceeding goes nowhere.
This regime and its supporters don’t give a damm if some poor black women or anyone else used all their resources to set up a business in those communities only to have it destroyed through blacks rioting resulting from what democrats created through their propaganda. Such blacks are viewed as eggs that must be broken to make their omlet.
That includes the whites,”hispanics” (note quotes) and asians. They are the other victims who have been maimed, assulted, and murdered by blacks citing those manufactured episodes as their excuse for retribution.
This POTUS (president of the united states) signaled the clever direction to take through his use of “The Bully Pulpit”. And continues to rely on The constitutional office of The US Attorney General to conduct activities and investigations which promote rather than supress that direction.
The POTUS has yet to acknowledge and decry those other results, of killings and assults. Let alone be urged to do so by “news” members of the democrat propaganda army known as the media. They have yet to suffer as their victims the same or any conseqences. They like him are being held unaccountable . It’s time both are. .
While the Florida thing was going on nobody noticed what came out of HHS and its resettlement/relocation policies as a means to handle the racial divide. If Obama had his druthers and could pull it off we’d be all living in urban centers taking a street car to work, store, and play living happily together in a utopian setting with our thermostats set at 67 degrees.
They and by they I’m mean that political party which is in name only called “democrat”. There is nothing “democratic” about them. While the riots were going on you had a democrat governor calling for a “vigorous prosecution” and his state police commander marching with radicals flashing gang signs. With the cops told, let them riot. As the local state democrat representative repeats the propaganda dished out by the regime.
Not recognizing why this “racial divide” is being perpetuated has nothing to do with such lofty counter arguments being offered by the political opposition on “equality” or “justice”. Those discussions are viewed with glee and laughed at by the democrats because it diverts focus from the real reason why the those in power are using this political device known as division. It’s to keep them unquestioningly in power.
Ok - but I think Roman roads of the day had no painted lines in them — traffic code was somewhat an open debate back then... Off road meant riding a donkey...Maybe had Mr Brown been riding a donkey while smoking his stolen cigars, then I would have been okay with the comparison...(SARC/)
Ewing apparently believes that God does not hear his lies.
And thusly they created their martyr. Wow. Somehow I always pictured true Martyrs standing in the streets professing the love of Jesus. Martyrs...like the one's being martyred in Iraq...crucified, beheaded and refusing to worship a false god.
People wonder what the false prophet might sound like and how so many could be led astray, it won't be just on the back of islam...God tells us many will follow the false prophet. WE are indeed warned to be wary of him.
This morning, reading this just leaved me astounded at the deception. They have preyed upon the grief of the community and with eulogies like this have set the stage or are trying really hard to stack the timbers of the bonfire. The entire investigation has been corrupted, justice will not be served and even if it is ...the match will be struck for their martyr.
Putrid, race baiting thugs like brown.
Sounds like blasphemy to me. Comparing a thug to the spotless Son of God is beyond the pale. Some day the ground will open up and swallow their sorry rears, if lightning doesn't strike them first.
I have an idea. What don’t they start their preaching aimed at the conduct of their own communities and so called Racing Bating Poverty Pimps calling themselves Preachers who say “It’s not your fault”, You are entitled to”, “and refuse to demand parents be parents of their children and their childrens keeper rather than taxpayers”. Why aren’t these Pharasees screaming to their sheep the idea of Personal Responsibility in their own homes and communities for their allowed beghaviors and to live up to a higher standard of morality? Where are those sermons?
They’re getting maximum benefit out of this. More democrat voters. More White Guilt. More cops deciding to walk away from a Black criminal.
Sacrilege.
